From Principal Becker
Approaching the holiday season, and wrapping up the first trimester
And with that, we're heading into Thanksgiving week. It's incredible how fast it's been, from Student Orientation to the first day of school, Homecoming to MEA, and October into November. Yet here we are – a three-day week and a four-day week is all that remains in the first trimester. Each day counts! Please monitor your Crimson students' progress in Schoology and reach out any time to teachers to collaborate for the success of your student.
In activities, the final showings of Chicago are Friday and Saturday, while our Crimson Girls' Swim and Dive team competes at State this weekend to wrap up fall sports. Meanwhile, winter has already begun! Our Crimson Math Team competed in their first meet, Crimson Robotics Team 2526 is gearing up for their home competition in early December, and our Crimson Girls' Hockey team has already won their first two games, with many more to come. It's going to be a busy winter for Crimson Activities!
As always, thank you for your support and partnership. There's so many amazing things occurring at Maple Grove, and we still have a long way to go! Feel free to contact me with any questions at beckerb@district279.org.
Yours very respectfully,
Bart Becker, Principal
College and Career Resource Center
We're looking for stakeholder partners!
The Career Resource Center (CRC) is seeking representatives from a variety of local professions to participate on career panels throughout the year to discuss post-high school pathways with Crimson students. The CRC also partners with the English department to offer every Crimson senior an opportunity to participate in mock interviews. To that end, the CRC seeks collaboration with community leaders to conduct over 500 interviews in one week during the month of March.
**If you are interested in either opportunity, please fill out this form.
Wallin Education Partners are a local nonprofit that has been providing scholarships to Minnesota students attending two-year or four-year colleges for the past 30 years. We are thrilled to share that starting this academic year, Crimson students will be eligible to apply for the Wallin Scholarships!
