On the Trail - Mustang Families
Oct. 4 - 8 ---- Final Exams this week
Finish Strong!
Mustangs,
That was an amazing homecoming week. It was so great to see our parade, royalty, half time shows and athletic and performing arts talents throughout the week.
Door decorating showed creativity and incorporated messages about Core Values and being Mustangs shooting for the stars!
Thank you to everyone who made homecoming week such a success.
Keep doing the great job you all do Mustangs!
With finals this week, the students should take advantage of our ASSETs study hall/tutoring after school through Thursday. It is vital to give it 100percent as you finish this term. Don't give up but ask for help as needed. Our teachers care about you and we want to see you finish strong.
How parents/guardians can help:
Tardies are a huge issue and affecting student grades. Please remind your student to be on time to get the most out of their education - check their attendance in Parentvue daily and watch for parent/student intervention meetings for our students who are struggling to meet expectations with this. In addition, remind them to stay out of drama and stay away from the park and report any concerns or incidents so they are able to focus on academics. That will help them reach their goals and help our teachers give their best as well.
Thank you in advance.
Note: There are some special schedules coming including Finals Days, Oct. 7, 8 and for the first days of the term 2 - more info below.
Let's finish term 1 strong Mustangs!
Go Mustangs!
Bell schedules for Final Exam Days - Oct. 7 and Oct. 8
For safety and supervision reasons, here are our after school policies:
- On regular school days, students must leave campus after the 3:15 bell unless in a school sponsored activity that starts right after school such as ASSETs.
- All Club members must be supervised by an MTHS staff advisor to be allowed to practice. There are no volunteers allowed on campus still at this time due to COVID protocols even if fingerprinted, etc.
- On final exam days, students must clear campus unless at lunch after the 12:14 bell.
- ASSETs will not occur on Friday of finals week.
- In the community please continue to treat business and others with respect.
Sadly, there are reports of some of our students doing some inappropriate things including stealing from the nearby apartments. We hope that isn't true and we know this isn't the majority of our amazing student body, but also need to remind our students to have integrity, respect and confidence on campus and off campus.
And, as always if you see something say something even in the neighborhood.

Secondary Education and high school and middle school principals met this week regarding football games in EGUSD. As a reminder, we would like to review best practices to keep our games safe and manageable. These practices include:
- NO backpacks will be allowed.
- Attendees are expected to sit in the stands and watch the game.
- Middle school students should be accompanied by an adult, and have their student i.d. This includes Jr. Mustangs.
- There will be no in and out allowed at the stadium.
This will be consistent at all HS Football games in EGUSD and is not only at MTHS.
Thank you for your time, and for supporting our great football teams!

Daily to protocols:
- Wear Masks indoors - mandatory regardless of vaccination status
- Hand wash and sanitize often - entrance/exit of rooms
- Have up to date daily seating charts/group charts, and accurate attendance records - this matters so much
- Do not come to school if you have symptoms - staff contact admin and students/families contact the school for admin to then follow protocols directed by nurses in contact with the county and health authorities
- Recommended wear masks in large groups outdoors - our lunch and passing periods for example
- Help remind students of the protocols as you pass by and in your classrooms/offices, etc.
