Recycling of Negative Lateral Flow Tests

We have a company that recycle plastic lateral flow tests along with single use masks, visors and latex gloves. Our Eco Warriors will put a box on the top playground at the beginning and end of each day for you to drop the items into. Negative tests need to be placed in the bags provided in your testing kits and kept at home for 72 hrs then they can be recycled, any positive tests must be disposed off at home.

ReWorked have also offered to donate back to the community an item of furniture they will make from the contents of our bins, and we're very pleased to be able to tell you that this will go to Sleepsafe Selby, a wonderful local charity dedicated to helping homeless people get off the streets and back into accommodation and employment.

Eco Warriors - Dog's Trust.

The Eco Warriors, in their battle to reduce waste, have encouraged lots of people to bring old blankets and towels in to support the work of the Dog’s Trust. Thanks for all your donations – they will make a big difference!

PTA Sponsored Litter Pick.

Do please send in photos of children doing sponsored litter picking for the PTA. We would love to see what they have been doing! Currently, Theo in Year 3 and his sister Imogen in Year 1 have cleared 2Km of litter, Leo in Year 6 has cleared 3Km, and William in Year 6 and Connie in Year 3 have cleared 4Km which is amazing! There is just over a week to do more picking and help raise money that will help provide things for all children in school.

Lost Property.

Please name every bit of uniform your child owns including shoes, trainers, bags, water bottles, lunch boxes. The lost property will be emptied every Friday and named items will be returned to their rightful owners. If they are not named we will keep them for 2 weeks and then remove anything not claimed.

Weekly Emails.

As you know, our teachers send a weekly email update for their class. We believe that this is really valuable and goes further than many other schools. It contains useful information about what your child has been learning, and what might be coming up so please do take the time to read it.

Maintaining Bubbles.

We continue to work hard to keep all children safe throughout these Covid times. Bubbles continue to remain separated according to government guidelines and the children continue to impress us by following these rules. This week, there have been occasions at the start of the day, where children have gathered in groups in the playground before staff arrive. Please can you remind children that they must go directly to their collection point upon arrival, so we can maintain our standards and ensure we keep all children safe. Many thanks.
