The Impact of Tardiness
Do you know about the impact of tardiness on school success?
At Croce, we stress the need for students to be at the classroom door by 8:30 a.m. with good reason. Studies conducted by the U.S. Department of Education on tardiness or lateness, show that school attendance is a major factor when it comes to school success and student behavior.
- Attentiveness and Distractions:The most crucial learning hours of a school day are the morning hours, because they are when students are most attentive. Students who are tardy miss the beginning of their morning classes, and they also cause a distraction when they arrive late to class.
- Academics and Achievement: Students who are frequently tardy have lower GPAs, lower scores on standardized assessments, and lower graduation rates. Chronic tardiness in elementary and middle school is also linked to failure in high school.
- Behavior Problems: In the National Center for Education Statistics 2007 Indicators of School Crime and Safety, teachers surveyed reported that students who are frequently tardy have higher rates of suspension and other disciplinary measures. Tardiness causes students to feel disconnected with school, leading to behavior problems and dropouts.
- Effect on Others: When students are tardy, they negatively impact their teachers and other students. Teachers are often required to allow tardy students to make up work, which often requires them to restructure their lessons or re-teach missed material. Tardiness also takes other students' attention away from a teacher's lesson, leading to more behavior problems and missed instruction.

Halloween Festivities
Our Cheetahs will be parading around campus in their Halloween costumes on Friday, October 29 beginning at 8:45 a.m. A staging area for parents will be set up on the basketball courts and the students will parade around the parents. Each teacher will be holding a class sign making it easier for you to find your child in the procession.
- Masks must be school friendly (allowed only during the parade, not in class)
- No weapons or replica weapons
- No blood or gore
- Must meet dress code guidelines
It is not our intent to complicate or interfere with creativity, but we must assure safety and a positive learning environment for the day. Thank you for your cooperation!
Upcoming Meeting
A Little Competition Among Friends!
It’s pizza time! For the next 4 weeks, the PTA is selling Pizza Kits to raise money so we can help the teacher's buy more school supplies for the students! To reach our goal and be successful, we need everyone’s help. It’s super easy to join the fun!
Use this link to register, customize your page, upload a video, create an avatar, and watch how many pizza kits you’ve sold. Send your special link (generated when you register) to your friends and family so they can buy delicious pizza kits and support our fundraiser. Pizza Kits will be delivered directly to their home by FedEx, so send the link to your out of state family and friends, too. You can even post your Seller link on your social media pages.
Every kit we sell earns $6 profit and makes an impact. The class that sells the most will win a PIZZA PARTY! Don’t forget to buy some for yourself!
Let's make it a virtual party, too by using a hashtag to see how we're doing! The student that has the most hashtags: #CroceLittleCaesarsParty21 wins ice cream for them plus a friend! (Please remember to direct message the Leo Croce PTA Instagram with your hashtags if your Instagram is private.)
Let the pizza games begin!
