Temporary (in most cases) form of diabetes in which the body does not produce adequate amounts of insulin to regulate sugar durning pregnancy.

  • Frequent vaginal, bladder, & skin infection

Risk Involved (If not treated)

  • Large birth weight
  • Premature delivery
  • Increased change of having c-section
  • Slightly increased risk of fetal & neonatal death

  • Diet & Exercise management
  • Insulin therapy, if necessary
