Upcoming 7th and 8th Grade Elective Selection
The week of February 6-10, counselors will meet with the current 6th and 7th grade students about elective options for next year.
We will send home an email with information about elective options on February 6th.
We are asking the students to speak with you about their options and then fill out the Google Survey that will be posted on their Schoology page February 8th. Elective course descriptions are also on the Google Survey.
Students will need to select a first choice, second choice, and third choice. Each choice should be different because sometimes the first choice is not available and we would rather put your child in their 2nd or 3rd choice instead of picking something random.
The Election Course Selection Survey will close on Tuesday, February 14th.
CCHS Upcoming 9th graders Curriculum Night and Course Selection Sheets
CCHS will host a Curriculum Night for upcoming 9th graders on Thursday, March 2nd from 5-7pm in the CCHS Auditorium.
All parents are urged to attend with their student. There will be a brief presentation at 5pm and then an opportunity to talk with teachers about the different classes and electives.
Course selection sheets will be given out Friday, February 24th when the high school counselors come to CCMS and meet with our students.

McWane Center Summer Teen Volunteer Program
The Summer Teen Program is an opportunity for service-focused students to share their passion for science by leading hands-on demonstrations, helping with summer camps, and interpreting McWane exhibits in an effort to help our visitors connect and engage with STEM in an accessible way. They are an integral part of our efforts to spark wonder and curiosity about our world and show our community that science is for everyone!
In this program, McWane volunteers gain valuable leadership skills in a fun, hands-on environment and get to strengthen their public speaking skills while developing a strong work ethic. This volunteer program emphasizes the professional development of its participants and is a unique opportunity for students to see how STEM can apply to everyday situations.
If you have students interested in improving their communication skills, learning how to work with a team, and want to pursue their STEM related interests, you should encourage them to apply! To apply for the program, candidates will submit an online application with an attached resume and two letters of recommendation. All new candidates will participate in an interview after they apply. The application deadline is April 1, 2023.
Parents, please check the counselor's website for academic and mental health resources.
