A Note from the Principal
Over the past year and a half, several committees, including the School Advisory Council, the Marketing Committee, and Finance Council, have explored the idea of creating a short video (3-5 minutes) to market our school to prospective students and families. The goal of the video is to provide a snapshot of our school and to allow students, parents, and faculty to share their feelings about the school. October 6 is the big day! I am asking that all K-8 students wear their regular school uniforms on this day--no gym clothes or dress downs on this day. The film crew will be filming footage outside, in classrooms, at Mass, and at some extracurricular activities. We hope to share this video on our school and parish websites as well as other social media platforms. We are certainly looking forward to the final product!
We have been blessed with some beautiful weather--mild temperatures and abundant sunshine--that has allowed our students to enjoy recess consistently outside. I love seeing the kids running around, enjoying the playground equipment once again, and playing with some new friends.
Grace and blessings,
Diane Raguz, Principal

Walkathon Update
We have raised almost $15,000 so far! Keep those packets coming--the deadline for t-shirts is approaching, so don't miss your chance to get one for every K-8 SPB student in your family.
The recess laps are well underway, with many students having already earned medals. If you'd like to help tally laps, please sign up at: https://signup.com/go/Xgbmvat
Thank you for helping make this another successful Walkathon fundraiser for our school!

Walkathon Recess Laps are Back!
During the next two weeks (9/20-10/1), each student will be given a lap card at lunch recess. They can choose to walk or run laps around the perimeter of the playground. Students choosing to complete laps may wear tennis shoes to school those days. Individual and homeroom laps will be recorded. Depending on the number of laps walked (40 Laps = Gold Medal, 30 Laps = Silver Medal, 20 Laps = Bronze Medal), the students will receive a medal to wear on the day of the Walk-a-thon. Top walkers and homerooms will be recognized on the Walk-a-Thon Wall of Fame. The homeroom with the highest average laps per student will receive the prestigious and sought-after Golden Shoe Award. We need EXTRA PARENTAL SUPPORT to ensure there are not the usual crowds of excited kids waiting for their cards to be punched. We want to have each grade go to separate parents to decrease the hole punch traffic. Please come as often as you can to help count laps! Here is the sign up link: https://signup.com/go/Xgbmvat Contact Colleen Grossner (colleen@fresh-you.com) or Grace Powell (powell.gracem@gmail.com) with any questions. Let's go SPB!

Friday Playground Supervisor Needed
Playground Volunteers Needed-Grades 6-7-8
We are asking that each family (mom, dad, grandma, etc.) choose at least two days to volunteer each time slot being 11:15 am-12:50 pm. There are many, many time slots open! We are so grateful for the help!
This is a great way for you to interact with your child and his/her classmates during the school day! Recess Volunteers should arrive to school at 11:10 and check in at the office. Duties will include supervising students at recess, escorting the students to and from the school doors. Volunteers will be with one school staff member each day to help direct.
Remember that after your two volunteer time slots, you are done for the year, as each month is assigned to a different grade.
COVID-19 Volunteer Protocol: all recess volunteers are required to wear a mask when in the building.
Thank you again for your time and service to the students and teachers of SPB! Simply click on the following links to sign up: Grade 8, Grade 7, Grade 6
