The Beginning Pieces!

What an amazing first couple of weeks of school!

Parents/Families are an Essential Piece!

My school theme for the 20-21 school year is, “ You are an Essential Piece to the Puzzle. ” This means all students and families, regardless of where you are learning, are essential to Hot Springs Elementary. This year will definitely be different in so many ways but I look forward to learning and leading you through this experience. I strive to be an excellent listener and come everyday with an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations for all students to learn whether that be in person or remotely. I have an open door policy and welcome your input and ideas about how to make Hot Springs Elementary the best it can be.

I have been enjoying getting to know the students here at school. In the next couple of weeks I will be going around to introduce myself and allow the students to get to know me. I also welcome the chance to meet with you as parents as well. I know it is tricky because we are not allowing parents into the building at this time, but I have been meeting parents in the front waiting area. Please stop by to visit anytime.

Picture Day is Wednesday, September 9th

COVID Protocols

Masks

I want to say Thank You to the parents for providing masks on a daily basis for your child. The student's have been doing AMAZING with wearing them when need to in our hallways, through the lunch line, and when we can't maintain social distancing. Love seeing all the students promoting Bison pride with the wearing of their school provided mask. Keep in mind that the district provided 1 mask per student. At this time we are not replacing those mask if they are lost. This is a great opportunity to teach responsibility. If a student doesn't have a mask for the day, we do have disposable masks available. Thank you for helping us to keep everyone safe.

Symptoms

Thank you to all parents for watching and keeping students home who are showing possible symptoms of COVID or other illnesses. We appreciate you being on the proactive side and helping to keep our other students/staff safe.

Please remember that we are airing on the side of being proactive with ALL of our students. This is a shift from if 1 sibling is not feeling well and the other sibling is well, we keep one home but send the other one. As we move forward, if a sibling is staying home with symptoms, please keep the other siblings home from school as well. If you would like work for the day, please contact their teacher to arrange. This will help us here at school to ensure the safety of all students K-5. Thank you!

Parent Google/Technology Night

Wednesday, Sep. 23rd, 5:15-6:45pm

Bison Center

Please join us as we will show you around the World of Google Classroom from the parent side. More information to come soon. Masks will be recommended. Social Distancing will be required. We recommend that only 1 parent attend this meeting so allow we can adhere to the CDC guidelines.

PTA

Huge shout out to our PTA for purchasing 4 new air-conditioning for our classrooms. This has helped to keep our students cool during those really hot days!

A couple of ways you can help support our school right now is by turning in Lynn's Dakotamart receipts because these can be turned into money for the school. Please turn into the office or your classroom teacher.
