Eagleridge Enrichment Program - November 2021
Principal's Message
Before Fall Break I held student and parent listening sessions to hear their thoughts about Eagleridge. All of the participants had such kind and loving things to share about the reasons they enjoy their time at Eagleridge. Here are some of the ideas for improvement that were shared by the student and parent groups:
- Monday 4th-8th grade students asked for more time to eat due to the large number of students who attend that day.
- Additional shade (and maybe misters) on the playground
- Additional sewing machines
- Wednesday and Friday students asked for some choices in regard to their class offerings
- More communication about teacher or class events
- Additional tutorials/supports for new families for registration and class selection
Here are the steps we're taking to address the feedback we received:
- We've extended the lunch time on Monday to accommodate our large student group and are continuing to monitor this in case additional time is needed.
- We're looking to order more umbrellas and exploring the option of adding misters (either permanent or temporary).
- We're submitting a grant to *hopefully* be able to purchase additional sewing machines!
- Our Leadership Team is exploring some ideas to enhance our Wednesday and Friday offerings that nicely compliment the structure and format of those program offerings. We'll be seeking your feedback on these ideas after Winter Break.
- With Semester 2 registration on the horizon, we'll be sure to provide some step-by-step tutorials to help our families complete this process.
There are several opportunities coming up for you to come see what your children are doing here at Eagleridge. Please check the Calendar of Events listed below. Our Monday and Tuesday/Thursday performances are class specific and we invite the parents of the students in those classes to come watch their child perform at our assembly. Our Wednesday and Friday performances include all students in K-8, and we invite all parents to attend the assemblies on those days. Some teachers are also hosting their own individual events and will be sending you direct communication with the details. Be sure to sign-in at the front office when you arrive on campus to attend any event.
Our Helping Hands class has organized a service project and are accepting Blessing Bag donations through November 22. Click this link for more information: Blessing Bags 2021.
Our Eagleridge fundraiser is coming to a close next week. Paper order forms are due on November 2 and online orders are due by November 8. Items will be delivered in early December. Thank you for your participation!
Thank you for your partnership as we strive to engage, enrich and empower our students!

Meet Coach Arredondo
The students here call me Coach A. In 2019, I retired from the Phoenix Fire Department after 36 years. I also taught Fitness/Wellness/ Performance for 30 years. But I couldn't be happier than I am now helping your kids love fitness/wellness as much as I do and to teach them our health is so very important. My goal is to teach them it can and should be fun, and to never take our health and body for granted. I love my students!
Meet Mrs. Hoshnic
Meet Mrs. Langley
This is my 12th year working for Mesa Public Schools. I have worked in the cafeteria, in the classroom as an instructional aide, as a substitute teacher, as an aide for the office and library, and in 2019 became the Eagleridge Librarian. I have been married to my husband Todd for 34 years and we have 2 sons ages 28 and 29. I love spending time with my family and traveling with my husband. I have visited 46 of the 50 states and have traveled to Mexico, Canada, England, France, Switzerland, and Germany.
