Our kindergarteners started their math unit and logged into their Dreambox accounts for the first time. They worked hard to solve fun math problems. They learned how to create their avatar and choose a password so they can easily access it at home and solve more fun math problems!

In the month of October, 3rd grade students were actively engaged in a flag football unit. The four week unit covered all of the basic skills and rules of football. The unit focused on running with the ball, catching, throwing, ways to dodge opponents, defend a ball carrier, cadence, down and distance. Students were able to build their knowledge and skill throughout the unit and ended with a modified flag football activity.

Sixth graders in the Brain Trauma elective designed and tested protection for model brains under simulated trauma. Students investigated, made models and collaborated throughout their time in this elective. They discovered how sensory receptors respond to stimuli by sending messages to the brain and how these messages are stored as memories. Understanding the dangers of brain trauma and the need for prevention motivated students to “protect” their brain models, while having a great time!
Second Grade students explored ways to describe and classify different kinds of materials by their observable properties. Students conducted investigations, worked collaboratively and learned how to represent their findings. They all enjoyed learning how to describe different materials.
