Dr. Lancaster Speaking at PTO General Meeting 9 am October 19

Do you live here? Do you pay taxes? Do you like coffee and/or donuts? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you’re invited to our General PTO Meeting! Mark your calendars for October 19 at 9:00 am (come when you’re able) to learn more about the Bond and Tax Ratification Elections. Our own Dr. Lancaster, Superintendent of LTISD, will be presenting. If you’ve never heard him speak, please make a point to come (Dr. Lancaster can even make tax talk humorous).

Dr. Lancaster will be answering questions, too! As always, we welcome small children, we love our future Tigers! We’ll be raffling off WCH Spirit Wear. Invite your friends and neighbors, even if they don’t have children in school (bring a photo ID to check into the office). See you on the 19th!

Avoid waiting in line for your security badge. RSVP here.

Dandi Holec Named Volunteer of the Month, October 2017

Mrs. Dandi Holec has been named Volunteer of the Month for October by WCHE staff. Dandi was in charge of our Wild West Book Fair and worked almost around the clock for weeks in order to make our book fair such a rootin'-tootin' huge success. She also helps to keep all of the staff workroom equipment in good working order, saving the school the cost of expensive service calls.

Dandi has already logged more than 150 hours in service to our school.

Congratulations, Dandi, and thank you for all that you do to make WCHE such a great place to be.

Apex Fun Run....Is Here!

The Apex Fun Run is an interactive leadership program that helps schools all over the country to raise money, while promoting leadership, good character, and fitness. This year's theme is UNITED! Students will join the Apex Squad on an exciting journey as they learn what it truly means to unite as a team. For more information, click here.

Our Fun Run will be Thursday, October 26. If you plan to join us for this fun and exciting fun run, please avoid delays in gaining entrance to the school. Be sure to RSVP.

This year our donation collections will all be done online to make the collection process easier and faster. Of course, sponsors can still pay by cash/check if they choose, we just ask that these donations be turned into the school any time before the Fun Run, so that students receive credit.

And, if you can volunteer to help at the fun run, you are guaranteed to have loads of fun! Volunteer here to make the fun run a great success!

Run times are:

Kindergarten...........1:55 - 2:45 pm

1st Grade...............12:55 - 1:45 pm

2nd Grade..............10:35 - 11:25 am

3rd Grade................9:40 - 10:30 am

LTISD to Offer Flu Shots for all WCH Students October 25

The LTISD is partnering with Healthy Schools, E3 Alliance, and Schoolhouse Pediatrics to make flu shots available to West Cypress Hills Elementary School students on October 25 from 8 am to 11:30 am.

Parent letters and consent forms went home in Tuesday Folders. In order for your child(ren) to have the flu vaccination on October 25, a signed consent form must be returned to the classroom teacher by Friday, October 20. Please contact Nurse Hensel with any questions.

Volunteers are needed to help with this project either by escorting students to and from the nurse or by distracting students while they receive their flu shots. Volunteers willing to help administer a dose of love should sign up here. Many thanks for your help!
