Black History Month
Each grade level will select 4 African American heroes to showcase this month (1 per week). In addition, each class will select one hero to showcase in our cafe by printing a quote with the hero's name and a photo. Give this to Candice and she will post it in the cafe for you. We have a special celebration planned for our assembly.

Read-a-thon Begins 2/14!
The read-a-thon is a teacher ran fundraiser to encourage and celebrate reading while raising classroom funds for important projects, activities, supplies, technology and so much more!
Families will use an online platform called 99Pledges to fundraise. We will be awarding prizes for funds raised and minutes read.
Each week the K-2 & 3-5 class with the most minutes read will earn an extra recess.
Each week the K-2 & 3-5 class with the most funds raised will earn an extra PE with Mr. Z on Wednesday.
Our Read-a-thon will run until March 5th. If our students read at least 20,000 minutes by March 5th we will celebrate with a school-wide dress up like your favorite character day! And...
The K-2 & 3-5 class that reads the most minutes & earn the most money will earn a pizza party!
The individual K-2 & 3-5 student that reads the most minutes & earns the most money will get $20 for scholastic!

Great things are happening at JME!
Everyone for celebrating friendship & Oregon's birthday. It was great to see so many family members in our school on Friday. I know this takes extra planning and preparation and it was all done with such joy. Thank you for making McLoughlin special!
And so much more...
