JCIB ACAP Testing Info
March 2, 2021
Schools throughout the Jefferson County School System will begin administering the ACAP Summative Assessment to students in grades 2-8 during the week of March 15. Grade level testing will continue throughout the month of April, with all testing being completed by April 30. Students in grades 2-8 will take English Language Arts and Mathematics assessments. Additionally, students in grades 4, 6, and 8 will take a Science assessment.
During the administration of these assessments, the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. Jefferson County schools will continue to adhere to guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control, which include daily cleaning of classrooms and instructional materials. Schools will also adhere to social distancing guidelines, and maintain six feet of spacing between students during the administration of these assessments.
For the following reasons, some schools in Jefferson County will utilize remote learning days to ensure that all students can be tested before the testing window closes on April 30:
Social distancing guidelines limit the number of students that can be tested at one time.
Additional staff will be needed to ensure that all students can be tested.
Additional classrooms must be available to ensure that all students are adequately and safely spaced.
Designated days are needed to bring remote students in for testing.

Important Information
During the remote testing days below, traditional students will work from home on assignments posted to Schoology while remote students come on campus to test. There will be no WebEx classes on these days. The same will be true for remote students when traditional students are testing from March 30-April 1.
- March 17-19 - only 6th & 8th grade remote students will be on buses and campus
- April 13-14 - only 7th grade remote students will be on buses and campus
For parents whose children have been remote all year and have never been on campus, we will have teachers prepared to direct students to the correct areas and classrooms. The earliest drop off time is 7:25am. You can certainly check your child out after the test if you choose, but it will require a parent to enter the school because we have to see identification to check the student out.
If your child will be riding the school bus, please go to the Bus Schedule at the bottom of this newsletter to find the times and locations for your area. Please send an index card or piece of paper to give to the driver upon entering the bus with the following information:
