The Principal's Message
As we finish another great week of learning, we are also finishing the month of September. Since we have transitioned to fall, please remember to send your scholar with a jacket. They go outside daily for recess and some days are more chilly than others.
Our second Eagle Success Time celebration is Friday, October 5th, at 9:00 A.M. All monthly celebrations will be at 9:00 A.M. for the remainder of the year. We are excited to honor our scholars!
Every day life can be tough on us all. Children often need extra support when a traumatic event occurs (a death, fire, divorce, move, etc.). Stephen Decatur staff members are using brain based techniques to help students self-regulate and handle their emotions. I have included below, some tips from the Child Mind Institute that can be used at home too.
Enjoy your weekend!

Welcome to the Volunteer Page
In an effort to keep our schools safe, all volunteers (including staff) must complete a volunteer application form/criminal background check request and be approved as a volunteer prior to volunteering.
This form must be completed at least 5 business days prior to the event, in which the volunteer chooses to participate.
At the beginning of the school year the length of time to process volunteer forms could take up to 2 weeks. You will receive an email once the volunteer form has been processed.
