All of our student IDs will have this important information located on the back of each student's ID card.
Dress Code Reminders
As we begin a new school year, it is helpful to review the dress code which is in place for LMS. The details of the dress code are outlined in the Student Handbook which students will receive in September/October. Until the handbooks are received, you may view the planner in its entirety on the middle school page of the district website under Quick Links. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support. Please discuss these guidelines with your student.
For now, it is important to keep in mind the following highlights:
* Skirts and shorts must extend beyond the length of a student's arm (and fingers) when the arm hangs straight at the student's side.
* Hoodies which hinder the ability to identify students should not be worn in school. The same guideline applies to hats in the school building.
* Flip-flops and slides are a safety issue in the hallways and can not be worn.
* Headphones or air pods are not to be worn during school hours or in the classroom, except where the teachers deem acceptable.
* Students should not wear ripped jeans which expose their thighs.
These guidelines are not intended to be punitive in nature. The guidelines are in place to foster an environment in which teachers are able to teach and students are able to learn. We believe a school is a place of business, where all attendees should feel comfortable, and that secondary school students must dress accordingly. Students who are dressed inappropriately will be asked to change. Parents will be asked to bring appropriate clothing to school if the student does not have appropriate clothing with them.
Students are reminded to please return the green (8th Grade) and yellow (7th Grade) emergency contact cards to their homeroom teacher.
