Mrs. Kelley's 1st Grade Class Newsletter
I apologize for the late newsletter this weekend. My family just returned from Indianapolis for the BOA Grand Nationals for Hebron Band. It was very exciting and Hebron did very well, placing 3rd overall and winning the judges award for best music! VERY PROUD MOMMA!
I am sure your child will be SOOO disappointed but we will NOT have any homework this week! We have several projects we are working on in class and we wanted to give the kiddos a little break from homework before Thanksgiving. There will NOT be a spelling or sight word test this week. This would be a great week to do a little extra Istation or to work on math facts. There are many games and links on our class website. The link is at the bottom of this newsletter.
I do not have classroom pictures uploaded yet so I will just give you the important info for this week and add extra pics to next week's newsletter. Thank you for understanding!
Tomorrow, November 16th, please have your child bring in the community 3D building that they have been working on at home. I can't wait to see our 1st Grade 3D community!
Also, please note that this week is the Homestead Book Fair in the Library. Our class has an official buying window on Tuesday. However, the Book Fair is open all week before and after school if you would like to shop with your child. Tuesday, November 17th, is Family Night and the Book Fair will be open from 5:45-8:15. If you are planning on sending money or a check to school with your child, please have it in a sealed envelope labeled with their name and the amount inside. Please make them aware of how much they can spend and what they are to buy.
Thank you for working on the "surprise" thankful turkey writing at home! Please send in your thankful turkeys by Wednesday and please hide them in the manila construction paper I included in last week's Tuesday folders.
Lastly, thank you for helping us with our cheese tasting party this Friday, November 18th! You can send your pink sheet item on Wednesday or Thursday. I have a little refridgerator so I can keep the cheese fresh.
