A Message from Mr. Finkle
Congratulations to all of our fall sport teams for their hard work this season. We had some wins and some hard-luck losses along the way. However, they all represented DHS with dignity and integrity; and we are very proud of them!
To address the football team's controversy, I appreciate the coaches and players rising above the issue and representing Delran in the highest degree. It is unfortunate that we had a great season and were not rewarded with a playoff birth; however, after speaking with the coaches and the NJSIAA, I know that in future years, changes will be made to ensure that seasons like we had are rewarded with post-season play. A huge thank you to the cheerleaders and all of the parents and supporters of the team. I look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday, November 8th for the consolation game as well as in Cinnaminson for the season finale on Wednesday, November 21st.
Congratulations to the Girls Soccer Program who lost a heartbreaker on Monday versus Sterling in a first round game. How exciting to see the girls tie up the game with 26 seconds remaining in the second half! It's always tough to lose a hard-fought game in penalty kicks. Great work to all associated with the program.
Congratulations to the Field Hockey Team on their season. Wall Township is a perennial powerhouse and you played them tough from beginning to end. Great work!
Congratulations to the Boys Soccer Team on their win today versus Sterling 3-0! The team now moves on to the Semifinals of the South Group 2 to be held in The Den on Monday, November 5th at 2pm. Keep up the intensity Bears!
For those of you who were unable to attend College Night last Thursday, please see the College Night for Juniors presentation as well as the SAT/ACT presentation.
First marking period grades will be posted on the Parent Portal on Wednesday, November 7th. Please make sure you are checking on your child's progress and reaching out to teachers or counselors if you have any concerns.
Just a friendly reminder that school will be closed for the NJEA Convention on Thursday, November 8th and Friday, November 9th. Enjoy the long weekend!
We will be hosting another Homecoming Forum to continue discussing the positives and areas where we can improve on Tuesday, November 13th at 6pm. Last month's meeting was very productive, and we need to finalize our plans for next school year. This will be followed by the regularly scheduled PTA meeting at 7pm.
You are cordially invited to our Fall Play which will be held on Friday, November 16th and Saturday, November 17th. Detailed information is posted below. We are looking forward to our students' performances!
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me at dfinkle@delranschools.org or (856) 461-6100 x3005.

DHS HAPPENINGS
Congrats October SOM
Simone was nominated by Mrs. Siobhan McVay because she is committed to academic excellence and diligence in her Honors Chemistry class. Last year, Mrs. McVay began the Diversity Club at DHS. Simone was immediately an active member who stayed beyond the meetings to talk with her about how they could work toward improving the climate at DHS. Her primary focus is on education and empowerment. Simone is truly a student leader and certainly looks to Mrs. McVay to be an activist in the making.
This year, Simone asked if she could run an activity at our meeting. She put together a survey that would help to spur conversation about Privilege. Because of this survey, the whole club began sharing, talking, and digging deep into some very complex issues and ideas. She routinely brings new members to our meetings and her willingness to step in to run activities and to think outside the box are invaluable.
Noah was nominated by Mr. Michael George and Mr. Phillip Palumbo because he is doing a great job in Photography class. He approaches each day with focus and attention to detail. When he is finished with his projects, he offers assistance to his classmates.
Noah has taken a leadership role in the Film Club and video classes. He appreciates the craft and works tirelessly on class projects and his own personal films. Noah elevates the work of others and is a great asset to video production. He represents himself and DHS well at all times!
Congratulations Simone and Noah!
