Mission Statement
Bush Elementary: A nurturing and inclusive community where students become empowered citizens and life-long learners. Every student, every day!
Quick Read
When we think about student growth and achievement, Tier I instruction is the most important component of what we provide as a school for students. Often, we find ourselves wondering what else we can do, what program we can implement, or where we can send students for extra help. This blog post makes the case for decreasing the need for intervention by strengthening classroom instruction. I'm interested to know what you think.

As we make copies of instructional materials, it is important that we comply with copyright law. Please know the usage rights provided by the materials you are copying. If a book allows for copies for classroom use, that only applies to the owner of the book. If an entire team wants to use the materials, each member of the team would have to own a copy of the book. It is unlikely that books sold as consumables have a copyright statement that allows for copies for classroom use. If you have any questions, please check with Meagan or Jarod.
This may not seem like a large concern, but it is important to remember that Houston ISD was recently hit with a multi-million dollar fine for violating copyright law.
Voting Incentive - March 2020
March 3, 2020, is election day in Texas. We will have a voting incentive for this primary election. The rules are the same as November 2019.
- When we collect 50 voting stickers, we will earn jeans for the month of March.
- With 100 voting stickers, we will have a staff pizza party.
Early voting begins February 18.
Reminder: Private Tutoring
If you are providing private tutoring for Bush students, remember that you must inform Jarod in writing. An email is sufficient. Please also remember that if you are tutoring students for a fee, you may not tutor your own students, tutor on campus, or use district resources to provide tutoring.
