An MSD Family Communication that Cuts out the Clutter!

May 17, 2022

Grad Walk Details, YouthTruth Survey Results, and a Safety & Security Message are the Main Things.

Main Thing 1: Grad Walk Details

Grad Walk is scheduled for Thursday, June 2nd! This is an opportunity for graduating seniors to walk down memory lane at their former elementary and middle school. The walk also inspires our future graduates! If you are not familiar with Grad Walk, you can watch last year’s video here. Students must sign up by Monday, May 23 to participate! You can find details and the link to sign up by school below:

Main Thing 2: YouthTruth Survey Results

In the Medford School District, we have a culture of embracing feedback and using it to make improvements. We would like to thank all of our students and families who took the YouthTruth Survey. We’ve received the results from the survey and we celebrate the strong relationships we’re building in our schools. The feedback has also given us areas of improvement including student and family engagement, positive school culture, and academic rigor. Schools will incorporate the feedback into their school improvement plans. You can view a high level summary of the district results here. (Spanish summary)

Main Thing 3: Safety & Security Information

The safety of staff and students is our number one priority. Medford Police informed us the community is currently seeing an increase in overdoses caused by fentanyl. What happens in our community can have an impact in our schools. In the case of an emergency, we have naloxone (also known as Narcan) in each of our buildings. School administrators and nurses are also trained on how to use it. You can find additional details and resources in this bulletin. (Spanish bulletin)
