Learning Materials Bus Delivery
There will be no bus deliveries or pick-up's the week of May 25th(next week).
We will be running all 6 routes again on Monday, June 1st. The bus will be coming to homes approximately 1 hour later than normal school day student pick up time. On Monday, June 1st there will be Material Delivery for all Early Childhood, 5K, and 1st-grade students. Learning material Pick Up is scheduled for all students in 5K. If parents could please be watching for the busses and come out and get the materials. Otherwise, they will be left near mailboxes, on driveways or on porches depending on the home/property layout. If you live out of the district, you can come to the Friess Lake lunch pick-up door until May 29 to get your student's materials; just have a sign in the car window.
Summer School Credit or Refunds/Update
Based on recent parent feedback on our 2020 summer school family survey pertaining to virtual summer school, HHASD will not be offering summer school if virtual summer school is our only option.
If in any way we are able, HHASD will offer in-person summer school held at Friess Lake Elementary School from August 3-14. Our summer school offerings will be focused on academic support; specifically literacy and mathematics.
In a case where we are unable to offer summer school or due to our modifying the dates your family no longer is able to make the timeline work as you have other plans. Please know that HHASD will work with families to credit students' lunch accounts or refund summer school payment for those when registered and paid for our 2020 summer school program.
Reminder from Food Service. Please check your Food Service accounts to make sure you don't have a negative balance. If you do have a negative balance please make sure that it is paid up before the end of the school year! Thank You!
Remaining School Items Plan
Greetings HHASD Community!
We hope this message finds you and your loved ones safe, happy, and well!
Currently, our staff is working to gather and organize the remaining student materials to be picked up from FLES and RMS by families on June 3rd between 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM or on June 4th from 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM. The pick-up and drop off process is being designed for families to make one trip to school and drop off District Chromebooks, library books (both classroom and school), athletic equipment, and any other classroom supplies requested by classroom teachers. Also, during this time HHASD staff will bring students personal belongings to your vehicle. You must sign up for a designated time.
At FLES, in order to participate in the pick-up/drop off process pertaining to school and student items, you will follow the directions/map below.
Enter from HWY 167 with your family name sign in the front window of your car
Proceed down the hill toward the playground
Stop by the “Dolphin Kids entrance to drop off your Chromebook and cord, library books, recorders, and any other school materials.
Proceed to the Kindergarten entrance (by the main entrance of the building) Here staff will provide you a bag full of your student(s) personal belongings and any remaining educational work.
Families In Preparation for Pick-Up/Drop Off Remaining School Items:
Have a paper sign with your last name in your car front window. (Staff will use radio communication to get your materials upon your entrance of the parking lot)
- Have all materials you’re returning to school in a disposable bag (labeled with student and classroom teacher name) for easy drop-off. (Staff will be on the sidewalk to obtain return materials)
- Please remain in your car and leave all materials you are delivering to school in your trunk.
- If you would like to bring a gift for your child's teacher, include it in your bag of items. Make sure it is clearly labeled. After the three-day waiting period, we will disperse the items to the appropriate staff.
Summer School 2020 Survey!
Summer school will not run as originally planned from June 15th through July 9th. Academic preparation will be prioritized in our 2020 summer school offerings.
In an effort to set ourselves up for the best possible opportunity to hold an in-person summer school program, we are adjusting our dates from June to August of 2020. Specifically, we currently have calendared August 3-14 for summer school 2020.
HHASD would prefer to conduct an in-person summer school. However, we continue to receive updates and new information pertaining to guidelines that are necessary in-order to due our part to minimize the risk of COVID-19 in our schools.
Knowing that we are not currently in a position where we can commit to in-person summer school, please take a moment and share your feedback with us here pertaining to participating in virtual summer school if in-person is not an option.
