September is half over! But we still have so many opportunities ahead for the Brickies.
Please read and learn all about the upcoming events regarding homecoming, College GO! Week, and more!
Stay Informed!
The School City of Hobart uses Remind to communicate with families via text messages and/or phone calls.
What are some ways that we use Remind?
- District News- Weekly newsletter, emergency closings, and other important information
- Class Reminders from Teachers - Events, tests, homework, due dates
- Announcements and Celebrations
- One-on-One Help
If you have not been receiving our messages and would like to, please reach out to your student's teacher for their Remind class code, which you will then text to 81010. For example, if you wanted to join a class with the class code @math, you would text @math to 81010.
Hobart High School's 'Festival of the Bands' Was Amazing!
Last Saturday our Hobart High School 'Pride of Hobart' Marching Band took to the field, along with several other schools and their marching bands. It was so cool! Each school's marching band performed on the field in front of packed stands and everyone had an outstanding performance. Of course, we may be a little bias, but we thought our Pride of Hobart Brickies were the best and closed the evening with a solid performance. Bands were awarded places and our Brickies brought home the Silver! Way to #BeExcellentOnPurpose, Brickies! #GoBricks
What Have You Learned About Music?
Mrs. Amsler's music class at Veterans Elementary are becoming the new era of musicians with their passion for learning. This week they learned about the glockenspiel and some students really connected with it! All student's enjoyed learning about the glockenspiel, how the different lengths make different notes, and when you put certain notes together - they create beautiful music.
What is even better about learning the glockenspiel is the impact in particular discovered that if you take a pipe, a pipe cutter, and make different lengths - you can create your own glockenspiel at home!! "I know a lot about music, Mrs. Amsler"! LOL! Check out the great video below and keep up the great work, Brickies! Can't wait to 'hear' what you become.
Hobart Kart Club Is 'Gearing Up' For A Big Victory!
Each year Kart Clubs from all over design, build, and perfect an electric go-kart to race against other high schools in the evGrandPrix races organized by Purdue Motorsports and the Purdue Polytechnic Institute. From here, they can compete world-wide!
Hobart High School has had a Kart Club for years where our students learn how to build an electric kart from the ground up! They then perfect it with these test runs by changing the gear ratio, changing where the tires are set, move the wheelbase, and make upgrades in areas where faults have happened in the past. Students learn about all the mechanisms, their purpose, and through trial and error adjust to perfection! Most students in the club are interested in a future of engineering, but it is not limited to those individuals - anyone can participate!
We look forward to seeing their first competition this year down at Purdue University in October! Stay tuned for those results! Until then, check out the great article about Purdue Motorsports that features our BRICKIES!

These young athletes have been inspired by their coaches and take pride in pushing themselves to achieve their goals. Each day is a fresh beginning and each course is a new challenge that they are always excited to conquer. Keep working hard, Bricks! HHHOB - AAART! HOB - ART! Goooo Hobart!

iReady Assessments for Grades K-8!
i-Ready is an online program that will help us determine your child’s strengths and areas for growth, personalize their learning, and monitor their progress throughout the school year. i-Ready allows us to meet your child where they are and provides us with data to inform instruction. i-Ready replaces the Star Renaissance Assessments that they students took last school year.
The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions based on student responses. Each item a student receives is based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier ones. The purpose of this is not to give your child a score or grade but to determine how to best support their learning.
Thank you for your continued support and for being a partner in your child’s learning! I look forward to sharing i-Ready information with you throughout the year. If you have any questions about i-Ready, please do not hesitate to contact the school. You can also learn more about i-Ready by visiting i-ReadyCentral.com/FamilyCenter.

Bus Safety - Important Reminder!
A friendly reminder of safety when it comes to school buses. Know when to stop! It takes less than a minute for a child to safely get on a school bus. Have patience and let's keep everyone safe.
Bus Safety In Our Schools!
Every year our Administrators and SROs take time to go over bus safety with our students. It is a great way to remind their 'summer' brains the importance of bus behaviors and rules so that our driver's and student's can be as safe as possible on the road. We appreciate the support and guidance from our parents and guardians - together we can keep everyone safe! Take a moment and listen to our NEW Safety Beat that goes over some basic reminders and check out the extra tips and advice from our SROs!
- Remember to ensure your student is at their designated Bus Stop on time.
- Remember to drive safely in and around school parking lots and zones, watch for students walking and/or riding bikes/scooters/skateboards.
- Remember the school crossing guards are extensions of the SROs, follow their traffic directions at all times.
- Sometimes life happens and you might be running late, remember to be patient with your student(s), yourself and other drivers, drive the spend limit and drive safely.
