Thank You, PTO
Thank you, PTO for the AMAZING Wacky Chad assemblies! He’s funny; he’s smart; and he’s a comedian on a pogo stick. Today, all K-8 students enjoyed watching the fun and inspiring pogo stick stunts by entertainer, Chadd Deitz. His message was simple - Love what you do, and do what you love!

7th and 8th Grade Girls Volleyball Match
Oak Grove vs. Highland Hosted @ LHS
Monday, September 27, 2021
West Gym (7th Grade 4:15 -- 8th grade approx. 5:15)
Libertyville High School is excited to host our rivalry match this year! The OGS and D70 Alumni are looking forward to cheering for their alma mater on LHS's Varsity court!
All fans and players should enter through the studio theatre entrance at the back of the building near Butler Lake. Please arrive after 3:45 in order for busses and after school traffic to dissipate. Hand sanitizer will be available and is encouraged as you enter and depart the gym. Food is not permitted to be eaten in the gym at this time. There will be designated areas in the stands for families and players to watch the match. Please observe social distancing as much as possible when in the stands.
If anyone in your home has any Covid-19 symptoms, we ask that you watch the match virtually - which LHS will offer on it’s athletics youtube channel for family and friends.
Masks will be required to be worn properly at all times by all participants and attendees while inside Libertyville High School. We appreciate your support and modeling of this expectation for all in attendance.
Breaking News! We Are Eagles Dance Challenge
The PTO has issued a dance challenge to the OGS Community as a way to celebrate both being back together and everyone’s unique contribution to the Eagle family. The “We Are Eagles” dance was choreographed by Miss Dugan, OGS teacher and LHS Poms coach, to the song “This Is Me.” Submit your dance video to earn points for your grade and the grade with the most submissions will win a frozen treat party from the PTO during lunch. Everything you need to know about the challenge is available on the PTO website including:

Order Your PTO Crew T-shirt By Tuesday 9/28
Don’t forget that we’re running a second printing of the “PTO Crew” shirts for PTO volunteers. Place your order directly with Sports 11 and when the shirts are ready you will receive a call from Sports 11 to pick up your shirt in the store. (Note: The ladies fit shirt runs very small so we advise you purchase one or two sizes up from your usual size if you choose that style. There is also a men’s/unisex option and the sizing seems more true-to-size.)
If you placed an order for Spiritwear and chose “Store Pickup,” you will receive a call from Sports 11 when your order is ready. Les and his team at Sports 11 indicated orders should be ready on approximately October 1, 2021. If you paid for delivery, your order will be delivered to your door when it is ready.
TAG Appeal Process
As part of our Talented And Gifted (TAG) placement procedures, we will be holding our fall session of the Advisory Council. This process is for students currently in grades 4-8. This process is discussed on pages 11 and 12 of the TAG Handbook. Parents requesting participation in the appeal process are required to complete the Parent Inquiry Form, also on pg. 22 in the TAG Handbook. Forms must be completed and emailed to Leslie Weber at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Friday, October 1st. Parents will be notified via email regarding the follow-up steps and final decision of the committee. Please note, the appeal process may only be utilized once per calendar year.
If you are a new family to Oak Grove and are interested in having your child’s information reviewed for our Talented and Gifted program in grades 4-8, please email Leslie Weber at email@example.com.
Attention all 5th grade parents, Sign up for Beginning band is open through this week only.
If you missed the band parent meeting, please contact Mr. Frankowski (firstname.lastname@example.org) for the meeting notes and instrument rental information. Rental Instruments will be delivered next week for the start of lessons. Once your child has had a lesson with their instrument, it will be released to them to bring home and play for you.
