Homecoming Parade - Come show your Hornet Pride!

Come support the Hornets at the Homecoming parade on Friday, October 4th. The parade will start at 2:50 pm. The parade will run down E. Mills St. turn left onto Maple St. another left onto Ginty St, and a final left onto Main St before the parade returns to school.

If your student will be partaking in the parade:

You will need to send a note or call the office no later than Thursday, Oct. 3rd end of school day to give permission for your student to partake in specific group/float.

If you will be attending the parade and would like to pick your student up after the parade:

Prior to leaving school premises parents that want to take students from the parade to home will need to sign their students out with their classroom teacher. If parents are unable to locate teacher they will need to come back to the elementary school office and sign students out as normal.

If you could send a note letting the office know your intentions ahead of time that would be greatly appreciated.

Student Council update

Our first Student Council meeting will be held in our elementary lunchroom at 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2. Those students that applied for Student Council were provided with an invitation to attend this informational meeting. If your student applied and is interested in joining Student Council, please remind him/her about this gathering!

Backpack Buddies Nutrition on Weekends

Your child(ren) can participate in a program called “Backpack Buddies Nutrition On Weekends.” This program gives your child a bag not of books, but of food. Each Thursday, or on the last day of classes in vacation-shortened weeks, your child will receive a bag to take home filled with nutritious food and snacks. Members of Come Now and Eat Community Table and St. John’s Lutheran Church as well as local volunteers pack bags and bring them to the school for children to take home at the end of the school week.

We need your permission for your child to participate. Please open and sign the permission form(s) linked below and have your child return the form(s) to the Elementary or Junior/Senior High School Office.
