Mr. Posick's Friday email

There's a chill in the air!

As I'm putting this week's smore together, I am well aware of the Weather Bug in our office. It's what we use to determine indoor and outdoor recess, and it's also a good indicator of what tomorrow's weather will be. And it appears that we are going to be in a cool stretch for a while. Please remind your children to bring appropriate outer wear. We go outside until the temperature hits zero degrees. Hopefully that won't be next week.

Sam's Club School of the Year!

Sam's Club visited us on Thursday for an assembly to recognize Merton Intermediate School as their School of the Year! The staff received either a $50 gift card or a wonderful gift basket. We also got a wonderful sheet cake. Our students were also the lucky recipients of cupcakes at lunch. Thanks to Sam's Club employees Kristen and John who joined us. They were very complimentary of our students, and they should be. They were awesome!

Veteran's Day is November 11th

It is with great pride that I share with you information regarding our upcoming Veteran's Day Celebration on Wednesday, November 11th. Please see the flyer attached to this email containing more information. We will be having a breakfast for Veterans and their guests, an assembly, and a chance for Veterans to visit classrooms. If you know a Veteran who would be interested in attending, please fill out this form so that we can compile a list of all those attending. Please see our website for more information.

Box Tops contest

Our yearly Box Tops collection has changed this year. Our contest will be going all year long instead of just having two collections. There are monthly contests for grade levels and families. Make sure you take a look at the flyer that was included in this email for more information.

Bricks4Kids

If your child is in 5th or 6th grade and likes building things with Legos, Bricks4Kids may be for them. This class meets after school on Tuesday nights. If you are interested in learning more, please check out the flyer attached to this email.
