Community Bond Advisory Committee
We are happy to report that earlier this month a Press Release was published regarding the formation of the Central Linn Community Bond Advisory Committee. The committee is a group of up to 20 parents, alumni, community members, and staff of the Central Linn School District. These volunteers will spend the next 12 months evaluating the district’s facilities and proposing solutions to the Central Linn School Board of Directors on proposed plans to include community and school needs.
The committee will work with the Wenaha Group, a Construction Management and Consulting Firm that specializes in K-12 construction in medium-sized and rural school districts. Wenaha will plan and facilitate the CBAC’s meetings, while the committee will ultimately decide what recommendations to make to the School Board.
“Community engagement is crucial in this process, and we are grateful to those who’ve volunteered to serve on the CBAC,” explained Central Linn Superintendent, Candace Pelt, Ed.D. “The group will be charged with evaluating the needs of our community and our students to determine how to best create inclusive and dynamic learning environments with a strategic eye on fiscal responsibility.”
Part of the initial work is to conduct a facilities assessment and develop a long-range facilities plan. The CBAC will prioritize the community’s needs and wants for district facilities, draft a recommendation, solicit community feedback, and then present a final recommendation to the Board. If the committee recommends that the Board pursue a general obligation bond, the Board would decide whether to refer it to voters on the May 2025 ballot.

The NED Show visits our Elementary School
NED’s Mindset Mission Assembly visited our Elementary School on January 22nd! NED and our students took a journey to find their positive mindset. The show was filled with storytelling, humor, illusions, and amazing yo-yo tricks where our kids learned the hidden message in NED's name:
Never give up — understand The Power of YET
Encourage others — spark courage in other people
Do your best — always be learning and growing
Ask an elementary student what they learned in the show about having a growth mindset from YET the Yeti, Captain Kindly, and NED's Spaceship visit. The speaker used his yo-yo tricks to teach about mindset and as a tangible reminder of NED's message. While learning to yo-yo, children will make mistakes, try again and improve.
Thank you, Jackson Duringer, for planning and recruiting Leadership students in spending time cleaning and organizing the CLHS trophy cases! A little elbow grease makes for a beautiful presentation of our school's accomplishments and we are grateful for the effort!

ANNUAL COBRA BOOSTER CLUB AUCTION AND DINNER
Dear Friends and Supporters,
On behalf of the Cobra Booster Club, I would like to personally welcome you back to our Annual Booster Club Auction and Dinner, which will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Central Linn High School. The evening will be filled with food, fun and friends, all coming together to support the students of Central Linn schools.
The Cobra Booster Club is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization working to supplement and support the wide variety of extracurricular activities at Central Linn. The club uses funds to provide scholarships to students to help cover sports fees for athletes, provide funding for uniforms and equipment, and fund special projects such as stage curtains and various unexpected expenses that clubs or sports teams encounter throughout the year.
The annual auction and dinner is our largest fundraiser and there are many ways you can help! Please consider supporting our mission by making a donation to the auction. Merchandise, gift certificates and cash donations are all accepted. Possible items include gift baskets, plants, quilts, vacation home stays, tickets to sporting events and concerts, baked goods…the possibilities are endless! All donors will be recognized in our auction program and we ask that donations be received on or before April 7.
Event sponsorship is also welcomed. Single table sponsorship is available for $300, which secures a reserved table with dinner and seating for ten people. Individual tickets may be purchased at the door, for $25 a person.
A donation form is enclosed. If you have any questions, please contact me at (541) 928-2281 or cobraboosterclub@hotmail.com. Volunteers can assist with any pickup/transportation needs you may have for donated items. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Adrienne Olson
Cobra Booster Club Secretary
