2018 Inquiry Matters Spring Conference
We are anticipating between 200 and 250 people to be in attendance that will include DFES students and parents. Given the complexity of our campus we could certainly use some help assisting attendees with finding classrooms. If interest please let or A. Newman know so that we can prepare accordingly. Further details to come in the coming weeks. Please see the flyer for this event below and ask us any questions that we may be able to answer for you.

Preventing Summer Reading Loss
Our school improvement council has been inquiring into practices that we can take to address the challenges of summer reading loss. One of our goals is to ensure that students have access to quality texts 365 days a years.
We are planning the following:
- Gift all DFES students with 5 high quality books they will take home at the end of the year to read and add to their home libraries.
- Open our school library this summer for student checkout. We are tentatively thinking twice a week for a window of time (2 hours) that would best suit parents/families over a 4-6 weeks in June/July
- Placing a little free library in the neighborhoods zoned for our school that will allow families to take a book and leave a book this summer
More details forthcoming. If you have any interest in supporting any of these efforts and specifically bullet number two please notify me or Sally S.
