Parade Items
- Please read the details I sent to parents in their Mustang Message so that we all communicate the same message.
- Wear your Mustang Shirts
- Fly your class flag
- Make sure your team leader (or whoever is leading your team's line of cars) drives the route BEFORE Wednesday. If teams get off the parade route things could be a mess.
- Please make sure you use TODAY's parade route map because we had to make a few changes.
- I will have colored copies of the map at the school for those leading your team of cars.
- Park on the north side of the school before the parade. WE will have signs for where your teams should park. Stay in your cars...we can't have a gathering place.
- Drive only street licensed vehicles.
- Parade starts at 1:00.
- One employee per car.
- You can have your spouse drive for you and have your kids in the car.
- Every 3-5 minutes a new team will go. Team leads, make sure your team is ready to go!
- Slow down in the neighborhoods!
- Place a sign on the first car of your team signifying which team it is so that those in houses know which team is coming.
- Be careful to keep your distance from the previous team.
- After driving the route, I think the parade will be 1.5-2 hours.
- Do you think this is enough rules??? Holy cow!!
Upcoming Changes
First Grade: Deeana Goulding
Third Grade: Austin Taylor & Kelsey Ramsey (interns)
Fourth Grade: Diana Gonzalez
School Counselor: Johnny Ledesma (Yes, this is Jamie's husband AND the great news is we get to have our school counselor FULL time next year!)
Change can feel a bit overwhelming and so I am so grateful for the collaborative way in which you all work together to help each other transition!
iCampus Change: iCampus grading CHANGE - Due to the complexity of the task of creating standards based grading/report cards and to recent complications of getting people together, the district was not able to get them done according to iCampus’ timeline for next year.
To do:
- Keep up the great work...you are rocking this!!
- Last chance to give input on how to spend our GAINs $2,000. So far, it sounds like most teams are interested in these: https://www.wengercorp.com/promotions/2020q2/elementary-flipforms.php
- After your student belonging pick-up time, place remaining items in the boxes in the office for us to hand out to parents that come on a different day.
- If students have broken their Chromebook, have them return them to the office so that we can get them fixed asap.
- The district has asked us to have teams still fill out the "Team Planning Day Proposal"...Team Leaders if you will submit these that would be great. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Hcr5JE86LrLhLzfJwEwhc_IW5vesCuRBzEanygcUII8/edit?usp=sharing
- Team Leaders let me know if your grade wants handwriting books for next year!
- Class Lists (make a copy first) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1U8VNgRi76TPjnjEyaXTurg0U3FLymVkDcX2YLts4_dk/edit#gid=0
- Each Friday and Wednesday BEFORE noon, submit students of the month on this form: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zDMelpgNTyQ9UIAHFPNVrEsrHOKr9qQA8DOanVW5V7I/edit#gid=0
- Begin end of year paperwork (I will be sending these out tomorrow or Wednesday)
THIS IS ALL OLDER INFORMATION...
COVID-19 GUIDELINES FROM THE DISTRICT & GOVERNOR
The original guidelines from the Utah County Health Department (UCHD) seem to be in alignment with Governor Herbert’s “Stay Safe, Stay Home” Directive and continue to be applicable to us as best practices:
Protocols for Nebo School District:
- Implement social distancing (six feet) measures in all areas, especially communal areas of the establishment.
- Where feasible, employers should encourage their employees to work remotely from home. Some “key staff” may be required to work in buildings as long as the building is not in actual “closure” status – which status would prohibit anyone from being in the building. Additionally, some work opportunities may require the employee to be present in the building.
- Employers should encourage employees who are sick to stay at home.
- Management shall and must ensure on a daily basis that no employee that presents symptoms of illness (e.g., cough, fever, shortness of breath) will be permitted to work.
- Members, guests, patrons, or customers who present symptoms of illness shall be excluded from the establishment.
- Employees do not have to stay out of the buildings, unless a building is in “closure” status. Anyone in District buildings is required to follow UCHD and other health and governmental guidelines when in the buildings.
- Observe “no contact delivery” if going to homes [and if accepting packet deliveries from homes]. This means [employees] cannot have person to person contact. Additionally, in light of “Stay Safe, Stay Home,” packet delivery/receiving should only be done in situations where no other legitimate alternative exists. As always, all employees of such services must not engage in any delivery [or receiving] services if they present any symptoms of illness.
- Through May 1, no employees will need to enter any sick leave, personal leave, or any other type of leave; nor do they need to “clock in” or “clock out.” (Note: this does not apply to those who are already out on FMLA leave.) In short, everyone should respect the professional honor system in doing their best to work an “honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay.” Our Payroll Department will automatically enter an employee’s regular weekly hours to ensure that employees are compensated.
- We expect our employees to work in assignments that best support teaching and learning, or participate in other value-added assignments as assigned by a supervisor.
- In some rare instances, we may have employees who are not concerned about receiving compensation during “dismissal” and Choose Not to work. These employees will give notice to their immediate supervisor using the District’s “Non-Compensation” form and will not be required to provide services to the School/District during “dismissal.” These employees will retain their employment in their current position with the School/District and return to work once “dismissal” status is removed AND the position assignment begins again.
- Nebo District will be closed for Spring Break (District Office, Maintenance, Warehouse, schools).
We are so thankful for the tremendous efforts given by all of our employees to ensure that student learning, parental support, and community resilience have remained strong and viable during these challenging times. We sincerely hope that these guidelines allow every employee to feel of our support and enable them to make decisions that are best for them and their families, while also fulfilling our professional responsibilities to care for children and for each other.
Meadow Brook Info...
Lets continue to:
- Stay focused on the big rocks
- Keep things as simple as possible (Ensure work can be done without the help of a parent)
- Be attentive to student and parents needs. Please keep a pulse on how your students and their parents are feeling.
- Provide "connection building" opportunities. Our students are craving connection with you and each other. Lets keep providing activities that allow our students to keep connecting with each other and with you.
- Cheer on our students and their parents.
Teachers, when you get a parent that is feeling overwhelmed encourage them to just keep up their literacy and math! Team leaders if you will keep me updated each week as to what kind of a response rate we are getting that would be great!
Awesome available curriculum being made for you!
