Citing Sources
When you are writing papers, creating presentations and even doing homework, you should alway, always, ALWAYS cite your sources. Anytime you use someone else's words, pictures, or music, make sure you give credit where it is due. The following information will help you make this task a little easier.
Google Docs and GALILEO
You can locate and cite sources within Google Docs. On the top bar, click Tools>Research or CTRL+Alt+R and it will bring up a search box. You can type the keyword you need and allow it to search through images, articles in Google Scholar (Google's version of GALILEO), etc. It will then allow you to choose what format you need to cite the sources you find.
GALILEO will allow you to cite every article you locate. When you search for and locate the article you need for your research paper, open it up as PDF Full-text, on the right side of the article is an icon that looks like a sheet of paper. Once you click on it, it will allow you to locate the citation format you need. All you have to do is cut/paste into your works cited page.
More Info
The password for GALILEO is: adore. It changes every semester. If you ever need to know the password, it is located in a picture frame in the Media Center on the shelf near my office.
