Family Update

Dublin Jerome High School

May 9, 2020

Good Morning!

I am so sorry I did not get this out last evening but it has been a busy week to say the least.

We are heading into the final weeks of school. There will be information pertaining to end of year processes and closeouts over the next couple of weeks. We are finalizing our plans and details and will share specifics in next week's newsletter. In the meantime, if you have specific questions or concerns please feel free to email.

I also would be remiss if I did not take a moment to wish all of our Dublin Jerome Moms a HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY! While I know your families will celebrate you appropriately (right students?), I wanted to say thank you for all that you do to support and love your kids. I would also like to acknowledge our Senior Moms. The way this Spring has evolved has tested families. Your willingness to help in any way possible to make the end of the school year special for the Class of 2020 does not go unnoticed. Thank you.

Happy Mother's Day and enjoy your weekend!

Mike

AP TESTING FINAL REMINDERS

College Board recently pushed out several resources and reminders for the lead up to exam starting next week:

1. Please make sure students have completed the 2020 AP Exam Day Checklist. The College Board cites Teachers should have their students complete this checklist for each exam they take and keep it next to them while testing.

2. Please review with students / or have students review the 2020 AP Testing Guide. The guide, designed for educators to walk their students through test day, provides information about: The AP Exam e-ticket, Five steps to take before test day, Understanding the test day experience, Exam scores, credit, and placement. (This tool will ensure that students will be fully prepared to test come exam day).

3. AP Exam Demo: https://ap2020examdemo.collegeboard.org/

(available starting May 4): AP students should use the clickable exam demo to practice the different ways to submit exam responses. The demo will help students confirm that their testing device will be able to access and run the online exam. If they can’t access the demo, the final slide of the Testing Guide can help them troubleshoot. The sample content in the demo will be the same for all users and isn't a practice exam. We’ll send educators and students an email to remind them when the demo is available. Please encourage your students to take this important preparation step. (This will ensure students are prepared and have a familiarity with the exam system prior to exam day).

4. Please share the Explainer Videos: with students. These are new videos that are available to give students quick, easily accessible information about their test day experience, what they need to do to prepare, exam security, and more. Here is the playlist for students to explore.

5. What student resources are needed on exam day for each AP Exam: Comprehensive guide to tools, reference sheets, and other resources that are required, recommended, or permitted for each exam (i.e. calculators). HERE

References and Guides: Formula sheets and Answer Sheets. HERE

Students should confirm all information in the Student's AP Profile is accurate. (Particularly the student's email address).

Students should know the start time for your specific exam. We are in the Eastern Time Zone. Students must log in 30 minutes prior to their exam start time.
