King John was the Youngest son of King Henry II. His Nephew had stronger claim to the throne, so John had him killed so he could be King. He was forced to accept a document know as the Magna Carta, because if he didnt accept it, they would kill him. The Magna Carta made it so John couldnt take taxes from nobles without their consent, and also so he couldnt take propety without paying for it. He was such a bad king, that nobles joined together against him.
William The Conqueror ( William the Bastard )
Normandy, England 1028-1087
Was originally the Duke of Normandy, but became king after his father died. He ruled England from 1066-1087. He is called a bastard because his parents were not married when he was born. He reshaped the feudal system, so that the king, not the nobles, had power. In his rule he crossed the English channel, and defeated Harrold at the Battle of Hastings. He changed his name to William the Conqueror after he defeated the Anglo-Saxons.
