Staff Climate Survey
Overall, we should be very happy with our results. The survey responses indicate a strong, positive and collaborative climate. There are a few items to reflect upon as a school:
- Recognizing and encouraging the talents of others
- Knowing our school goals
- Accepting challenges
- Utilizing logical consequences over punishments
- Encouraging and promoting student leaders from all races
- Giving each other the opportunity to have input in instructional decisions
Blessed to be a member of such a strong, talented and FUN instructional team!
Safety and Security
- Review and update of crisis manuals
- District and building level admin will attend ALICE training (alert, lockdown, inform, counter and evacuate) and Avoid, Deny, Defend training this spring. Staff training to follow.
- Reassemble the Emergency Operations Plan Team - they will meet 4-6 times a year to disucss safety and security issues
- BGC will begin using the secured entries at all buildings by March 12th. All other doors will remained locked.
- Develop a plan for BGC to have access to classrooms during a lockdown.
- Pricing security film for the secured entry doors and office windows.
- Purchase two way radio communication system that connects district safety and commuinications staff to building admin staff.
- Research other/additional methods for increased security, monitoring, reporting and response time.
The Deerfield community has a heightened sense of awareness and has reported potential safety/ security concerns.
Here are some reminders for staff. Please:
- Do not prop any exterior doors open.
- Do not open any locked doors for people to enter after 8:00 am. They should be directed to the front entrance.
- Direct (escort if you can) anyone you see in the building without a usd497 badge or Deerfield visitor sticker to the office to sign in.
- Actively monitor the playgrounds by walking the exterior of the playground.
- Be informed that we will have building cameras running live in the office.
This is just a brief summary of what I know tp be planned currently and to let you know that the district is working on this.
KESA Needs Assessment Results
RELEVANCE, RESPONSIVE CULTURE, RELATIONSHIPS AND RIGOR
Please Review the KESA Needs Self-Assessment Results!
This document shows how we scored DF compared to ALL SCHOOL and then compared to ALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS.
The definition of each component is stated along with a link to the actual rubric used for scoring. The district determine our two district focus areas from this data.
