Message From Mrs. Robertson
We want to thank you for helping us make our virtual conferences a success. It is our hope that you found this time together beneficial as we work together to build the bonds that promote student success.
Over the next two weeks students will complete term one, on November 6th and students will be receiving traditional grades in all subject areas including art, PE, and music. CMES continues to offer tutoring supports as well as assistance with completing work. We look forward to continuing to fuel our positive start.
Yours in education,

Bool Exchange Update
It’s happening! Our first scheduled Book Pickup is next week!!! Books will be available for pickup in the front vestibule of the school, Monday, October 26 through Friday, October 30 from 9-11AM or 1-3PM.
How do we know if our family has books to pick up?
If your child used the LS2 catalog to request books prior to Monday, October 19, those books are ready for pickup. You can check your child’s account to verify that his/her holds have “Arrived” before driving to the school! Access directions here.
What’s the procedure for picking up books?
- Pull up to the front entrance of the school, and take a moment to mask up.
- Ring the bell to let the front office staff know you are picking up library books.
- When you are buzzed in, enter the vestibule, and read the signs carefully.
- Place any books you are returning in the labeled return bin. (Returned books will be quarantined for at least 96 hours before being reshelved or reserved for another family.)
- Locate the correct bag of books labeled with your family’s name, grab it, and exit the vestibule.
*Please avoid touching any other bags/books while picking up those reserved for your family. Thank you!*
What are the dates for the next Book Exchange cycle?
Students should place holds in the LS2 catalog by Sunday, November 1 for pickup the week of November 9-13.
Can our family join in for the next cycle? Absolutely!
Step 1: First, read about Book Exchange Basics and changes to our weekly library lessons here. Then, access our Procedures, Book Circulation Guidelines, and Pickup Schedule for specific details.
Step 2: Next, complete this quick Parental Acknowledgement Form.
Step 3: Your child may begin placing books on hold!
Students have received guided instruction on placing holds during library class. See our How-To Guide and Video for a refresher.
Please contact Mrs. O’Toole through Schoology or via email maria.otoole@fcps.org with any questions. Book Exchange materials can also be found on the library webpage and in the students’ Media Schoology courses in the black Book Exchange folder.

These sessions have been structured in a drop-in format. Students may enter and exit as their needs are met anytime within each session.
