Gator Run Update
2019-2020: Reaching New Heights
Our Mission: Arbor Springs Committed to Student Success.
From Dr. Durrance
Welcome the newest addition to Arbor Springs--the Little Free Library! Thanks to Ms. Carla and her dad for building this beautiful library and donating it to the school. Students have enjoyed bringing books to add to the library and taking some home. If you would like to donate some student-appropriate books, feel free to bring them by the school!
Speaking of reading, students checked out almost 5,000 books during the month of September! We already have several students who have met the 30-book goal for the year, and one who had read 50 books! We hope you are joining us and are working on your own 30-book goal at home! A great way to keep track of this is through the website GoodReads. You can log your books there and it will give you recommendations for other books. The best way to build student buy-in to reading is for them to see the adults they love also reading!
As cooler weather approaches (we hope!) please plan ahead by marking student jackets with their names. You'd be amazed how many jackets we collect every day, and most of them go unclaimed. If students have names in their jackets, we can help them find their way home. As always, please don't hesitate to call me or Dr. Tarleton when you need us!

Character Corner
The character word for the month of September was responsibility. Responsibility means to carry out a duty or task carefully and thoroughly. Students who are taught to be responsible and accountable for their choices and actions develop a greater sense of self-worth and confidence in their ability to make the right choices. They will receive the satisfaction of knowing that they are dependable, and trustworthy people who take responsibility for their actions.
