Bearcat Brief

November 16, 2018

Notes from Niki

I hope you enjoyed the snow days! I was up at 4:00 a.m.Thursday, unable to sleep, and it was evident that we would not be making it to school that day, so I just sat at the back door and watched it snow for a while- what a peaceful feeling. Then I turned off the alarms and went back to bed for a while. It is a nice chance to catch up on all of those things at home that get pushed by the wayside with the hustle and bustle of school.

We have a faculty meeting scheduled for 11/20, but 6th-grade will be preparing to get out of the building for their field trip and with it being the last day before break, I anticipate that active supervision will be quite necessary. Instead of meeting, I have attached a "virtual faculty meeting." Please review it in its entirety and complete all of the components- there are several Forms and Docs to give feedback on.

The "No Tardy Party" scheduled for 11/16 will now be on 11/20. We will run the afternoon assembly schedule and then end the day with the party. We will use the first "extra day" on the FFR coverage schedule for the supervision of those that did not earn the party. Please update the document Crystal shared with any kids that get tardies between now and then.

Last year Jack Schneider got together a "Free Rice" day. I think just fifth grade (maybe 6th too) participated, but he would like to make it available to the whole building this year. He will write up an announcement and make a Google Form, but the gist will be that anyone who would like to play Free Rice during Bearcat Time on Monday can (intervention teachers, if there is time after whatever you have planned) and then they can turn in the number of grains of rice they earned on the Google Form. Jack will have some prizes for the students with the most grains of rice and keep track of what we donate as a building.

I put a stack of "turkey feathers" in everyone's mailbox (except Specials Teachers) for Monday morning. During advisory, please have all of your students put something they are thankful for on the feather and then return them to the office.
