What's Up At The Nest...

Principal's Message

Dear OMS families,

We can't believe that spring break is here. The time we have together seems to fly by faster and faster each year. We hope that OLIVE our families take time to rest and relax.

For those that are traveling, be safe, continue to wear those masks and social distance. For those that are staying local, find time to play at the park and enjoy the fresh air. Temperatures are slowly increasing and summer will soon be here!

For those families that plan to quarantine after spring break, please make sure to contact your child's teacher and omsoffice@sd25.org. All students that are quarantining WILL BE allowed to join Zoom for the two weeks following spring break. We encourage our families to take advantage of this Zoom opportunity and have your children quarantine to help us maintain our almost zero positivity rate at the nest. We don't remember the last time we had to send a positive COVID letter and we hope to maintain that streak until the end of the year! The only reason we haven't had to send a letter is because our families have been diligent with following guidelines and seeking advice from our school nurse. Thank you!

Have a wonderful spring break!

Erin and Julia

Tech Device Reminder!

As we head into spring break, we wanted to remind families and students that district-issued technology devices are for school purposes. These devices should be stored over break unless students need to complete schoolwork. We want to make sure devices are taken care of and ready for school when we return so please do not bring them on trips over the break. This is a good time for the devices to be updated, restarted, and charged to be ready for school. Thank you for your support regarding student devices.

One Book, One School

One Book, One School is coming back to OMS this spring! Our whole school community is excited to be reading and sharing a book together! The title is being kept secret until the beginning of the program on Thursday, April 1. Please watch for a paperback copy of the book to be sent home with your youngest child on that day along with an introductory letter and a reading schedule. If you are the parent of a student who is currently learning on the fully remote plan, please plan to pick up your copy of the book at materials distribution on Monday, April 5. We invite your whole family to read and experience the book together as we create a community of readers at OMS!

OMS - Every Owl Counts Spring Break Challenge

We are so excited to share the Every Owl Counts Spring Break Challenge! We hope all of our families will participate and share the activities they participate in completing!
