SLE Weekly Update February 4, 2022
Good afternoon East families,
We hope you enjoyed the snow days this week! As a result of the unexpected days off, the Curriculum Fair was postponed until Wednesday, February 9th.
Students will be meeting with counselors on Thursday and Friday of next week to review the scheduling process. Please take some time this weekend to discuss the courses your student will be taking next year. Our Curriculum Guide can be accessed on our web page via the Counseling and Student Services Link. If you have questions about the scheduling process, please contact your students' counselor.
As we head into the second week of the semester, we want to remind students that attendance, which includes arriving to class on time, is important for their learning. We are monitoring tardies and they will be addressed according to our tardy policy.
Semester 1 Report Cards were posted in Skyward today. Report Cards can be uploaded or printed through the Skyward Portfolio page.
Additionally, we are still required to adhere to the mask mandate issued by the health department. We appreciate your support in reminding your student to wear their mask properly throughout the school day.
Have a fabulous weekend!
Be East!
Curriculum Fair - February 9, 2022
Due to inclement weather last week, the Curriculum Fair was postponed! South Lyon East High School will hold its annual Curriculum Fair on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Prior to the fair, we will hold an optional informational meeting for the class of 2026 and their parents/guardians, beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium.
The Curriculum Fair benefits all of our students and parents as it provides an orientation for incoming ninth-graders, as well as an opportunity for all of our students, current 9th, 10th and 11th graders to converse with teachers about courses students may be considering next year. In addition, students will have the opportunity to ask questions about clubs and activities which are an essential part of our high school experience. Parents and students will be able to meet with department facilitators in the Academic Pathways from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
We hope that all parents and students will be able to join us for this informational evening!

The South Lyon Educational Foundation (SLEF) is excited to announce its 2022 Perseverance Awards application process is now open. Two $1,000 scholarships to South Lyon seniors will be offered this year - one student from each of our high schools. The Perseverance Awards are designed to recognize students who have overcome significant obstacles in their lives or demonstrated dramatic academic improvement throughout their high school careers. There is no G.P.A. requirement, only that eligible students must be accepted and plan to attend an academic, vocational or technical school or program in the fall.
All electronic submissions will be due to scholarships@slefoundation.org by Wednesday, April 20, and we would like to present the scholarships to winning recipients at the two high school honors nights in June.
