Congrats New Area Manager!
Now What?
Congratulations on becoming an Area Manager!
Congratulations on becoming an Area Manager! You did it! You're halfway to the top of the company with two of the four levels finished!! You have made a huge commitment toward building your Arbonne business and you are now only one step away from your Mercedes!!
The information below should be helpful in outlining organizational responsibilities necessary to continue growing your Arbonne team. Although there are new responsibilities that come with the title of Area Manager, it is absolutely essential that you continue your consultant activities: working your personal business!! Take a quick breath and give yourself a pat on the back, but don't lose all the momentum that you just built! Set your sites on Regional Vice President right away and map a plan with your upline to get into qualification for RVP as soon as possible! Careful not to get into the “my people” syndrome, assuming that your team is responsible for getting you to Region. Continue to build wide in your Central District through personally sponsoring, while continuing to support your existing team. Remember, “If it’s meant to be, it’s up to me!”
I hope you find these training materials helpful. Congratulations again on your awesome accomplishment. You can start planning your car presentation! If you can go Area, have confidence that you WILL go Region – and get ready to be handed those keys!
Set the next goal: $20,000 + 10 new $150+ consultants and earn your $400 Area Manager bonus. Create your Plan of Action to promote to RVP.
What is my Role as an Area Manager?
- Leadership is Action. Ask your VP to tell you how you can help at meetings.
- Recognize what you want repeated. “People work more for praises than raises!” (Post cards, posts, phone calls, emails, notes, etc.)
- Manage yourself and lead your team! Spend 1/3 of your time on your personal business, 1/3 on working in your District, and 1/3 on promoting out DM’s!
Check your Team Reports
1. Make sure every business builder has 150 in their own ID number every single month, in order to get an override check from Arbonne. They also need that order when they are in qualification for any level. (DMs need 1000 PQV number during the qualification period and minimum of 2500 in the last month)
2. Make sure DMs have 2,500 in their Central District each month of qualification for Area. (CENTRAL DISTRICT, and not entire Successline)
4. Make sure you know the maximum that your DMs can pull from each promoted out DMs in order to go Area. (10,000 total)
I recommend making a personal phone call to all new consultants in your Area. This will help build rapport with the consultants on your team.
*Call the new consultant and say, “Hi, Mary, this is ________ with Arbonne. I promise not to bug you, but I saw that you got an ID number and wanted to give you a call and welcome you to Arbonne. Did you get your packet from Arbonne? Great! Tell me, Mary, did you get your ID number to get your own products at a discount or are you looking at possibly building a business with Arbonne? (If discount, just say, “Great! I know you’re gonna love it! Please let me know if you have any questions in the future. Can I give you my name and number? I’m your Area Manager, and I’ll be happy to help you………… If business, then ask them to the next meeting and take it from there).
How Do I become a Regional Vice President?
OR $20,000 over three months.
(Remember that you do not have to do this by yourself!)
The key is still the 2500 building block. To reach District Manager, you did at least 2500 over 1, 2, or 3 months. Your goal is to continue to do a minimum of 2500 per month while teaching other people to do the same! Continue to grow District Managers and Area Managers.
Here are a few examples of how you can get to Regional Vice President.
7 things to remember as a new AM:
- Take a breath, but not a break because AM is a nice place to visit, but it's just a pitt stop on the way to the top! Set your sites on that car! The key will be promoting District Managers and Area Managers. Who is your next Manager?
- Now that you know what it takes to become a Area Manager, your job is to duplicate. Teach others to do what you just did and help them to find people who want to do the same.
- Activity Goal: Become a Area Manager making machine! Find out which of your Consultants wants to move and help them to finish AM quickly. This will help you to promote to Regional VP And…..If you continue to promote a new DM every month of your business, you’ll be an NVP in no time!
- Volume Goal: 5,000 + 5 new 150 Preferred Clients in your District, so you can earn your $200 District Manager bonus! AND 20,000 + 10 new sponsored to earn your $400 Area Manager bonus!
- Personal Goal: Read 30 minutes every day. It will keep your “head on straight” to help manage the ups and downs of this business.
- Organization Goal: Write down your Arbonne To-Do list every night before you go to bed. Write 10 things you want to accomplish. A little Arbonne a day will go a long way!
Stay the Course
- Stick close to your VP. Follow everything that your VP tells you to do.
- Be the number ONE consultant on your team! No one follows a parked car!
- You must follow the system – if you don’t then your team won’t either! Are you following the system, or trying to reinvent the wheel?
- You are not a “Manager” – you are a LEADER! One of the biggest mistakes an AM makes is sitting back and “managing.” As a DM, AM, RVP, or NVP we need to continually find new people & work our business just like we did when we started.
- You must spend time becoming a leader that people want to follow and will respect. You must develop yourself. The more you do, the faster you will go! Spend daily self-development time every single day (30 minutes). This will help you to discipline your disappointments.
- Attend all events within driving distance – IMPACT trainings, Car presentations, Discover Arbonne presentations, and of course GTC is a must!
- Begin acting like a Regional Vice President. Help with meetings, team calls ... recognition.
- Adopt an attitude of abundance. Scarcity thinking will sabotage your business, but a servant’s heart will bring rewards.

A Little Advice
- Be teachable. Ask your upline for feedback and coaching.
- Communicate with your team on a regular basis. Praise loudly, criticize softly and remember positives go down (to your Successline and team), Negatives go up (to your Upline). Never let anything negative touch anyone below you.
- Know when to let go and move on! If people don’t want this, don’t try to convince them. We want to bring along the people that DO want what we have!
- Realize that you set the tone – the speed of the leader is the speed of the pack! If you don't work, neither will your team. If you don't aim for the trip, neither will they.
- Always be willing to ask yourself “Am I in a blaming mode, justifying mode, or a building mode?” You can’t do any of them at the same time.
- Don’t wait for your people to make it happen for you – YOU make it happen!
- Learn that actions speak louder than words. The Consultants who are the most needy are often the ones who are doing the least. Watch your stats – and work with those who are working! Numbers don’t lie.
- Manage attrition: 1/3 are joining, 1/3 are leaving, and 1/3 are growing - this is NORMAL.
- People only complain about something they can change and chose not to. Remember that when listening to your team AND to your own complaints!
