Throughout the week, the Hope Squad will be sharing information and messages through the daily announcements, putting on Lunchtime activities, and organizing Dress Up Days to bring attention to their efforts. Here's the schedule:

PTSA REFLECTIONS CONTEST DEADLINE THIS FRIDAY

The PTSA would like to announce this year’s Reflections’ theme “I Matter Because..”. We are excited to see our students’ interpretation of this theme in the following categories:

Dance Choreography/ Literature/ Music Composition/ Film Production/ Photography/ 2D Visual Art/ 3D Visual Art

This year, all entries will be submitted online so it has never been easier to participate. Please go to UTAHPTA.ORG/REFLECTIONS for official rules and to submit your art.

DEADLINE IS THIS FRIDAY (OCTOBER 9th)

Some things to remember:

All entries must be the student’s original work, done only by the student. No copyrighted symbols or characters may be used. Students may enter one art piece in as many categories as they wish. Also, all students must remember to fill out the Artist Statement.

We hope many students will enter and enjoy reflecting on why they matter. Please contact the PTSA with any questions or concerns you have about Reflections.

STUDENTS WISHING TO CHANGE LEARNING OPTION

Dear Parents,

As we approach the end of first term (October 29), parents wanting to change their child’s learning option for second term from Remote Learning to At-School Learning, or vice versa, can do so by submitting their decision in THIS LINK between October 5 and October 20.

If parents do not wish to change their student’s learning option at this time, they do not need to submit a decision.

Once second term begins on November 2, parents will need to stay with their decision until the term ends on January 14. At that time, parents will have another opportunity to make a change. Please contact your school if you have any questions.

Thank you!

ONLINE MEAL ORDERING FOR AT-HOME LEARNERS

The best way to order school lunch and/or breakfast for students who are not at school is to fill out a survey each day for each student. This includes kindergarten and preschool students as well as remote learning students of all grades. You will need to order before 9 a.m. each morning. Meals are only provided on scheduled school days. For special circumstances, you can still call the school to place your order.

This would also be the method of ordering breakfast and lunch if your student is required to stay home for quarantine or for other COVID-19 related schedule adjustments or closures.

To place your order, please go CLICK HERE.

By way of reminder, meals can be picked up in the front office between10:15 and 10:30 each morning.

We hope this makes the process easier for all involved. Please contact the school if you have any questions.

AFTERNOON TEACHER HELP TIME

We want to ensure that all our students (and parents) are aware that our teachers are available to help our students each week. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday teachers are here to support students from 1:55-2:45! Whether it is a test re-take, a make-up test, a missing assignment or just a question, your teachers are here to help!

We encourage all our students to make good use of this time! You are welcome to stay after on your own accord, or we may invite you to stay. Either way, we want to help you!

HOW TO CHECK YOUR STUDENT'S GRADES

If you haven't been online to check your student's grades, we encourage you to do so (and do so regularly). Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to www.nebo.edu.
  2. Under the "Parents" Tab, select "Infinite Campus Parent Portal"
  3. Login using the login and password you chose at the time of registration.
  4. Once logged in, click "Grades" in the left margin
  5. Click on the Course Title (i.e. "English 7") to see specifics about a grade.
  6. If you have more than one student in the district, you can change which student you are looking at by selecting the drop down in the top right corner.

EARLY OUT ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES

We mentioned a couple weeks ago that we would be developing several "ENRICHMENT" activities after school for students who would like to be involved. Those plans are being finalized, and we wanted to share them with you. These activities will change periodically (some change from week to week, others will not change for a month or so) but this gives you an idea of what the plan is. All enrichment activities require students to sign up (to limit number of students) ahead of time.
