OUR LADY OF LOURDES SCHOOL T3 W4

TE KURA O TO MATOU WAHINE O RUATA

HELLO, KIA ORA, KIA ORĀNA, MALO E LELEI, TALOFA, NAMASTE, KUMUSTA...

Nai mai, haere mai, welcome to Week 4. What a wonderful week we had last week with our Kind Hearts outings, Mathex competition for our Year 5 and 6 children, a range of sporting activities, debating in the senior school and many other wonderful learning opportunities happening throughout the classrooms.

WHANAU LEADERS - Thank you for your support of our Whanau Disco last week - we raised $150 for St Vincent de Paul and $40 profit moving into our next activity.

A REMINDER

A reminder to please make arrangements to have your children picked up on time after school. We have some children who are waiting up to 45 minutes to be picked up. Most of the staff have training and meetings after school from 3.15-5pm so we are not in a position to supervise your children. Please make arrangements with after school programmes should you need to. Thank you for your understanding.

MATHEX

Congratulations to our Year 5 and Year 6 team who trained and then did us proud at the recent Mathex competition.

Our Year 5 team included: Leiana, Andrick, Charlotte -Jane, Hunter

Our Year 6 team included: Milo, Cam, Eleanor, Michaela (Kellan unwell)

HEALTHY FOOD IN YOUR CHILD'S LUNCHBOX

During the day at school we encourage children to bring healthy food to school. We know that is not always easy so we have Weetbix and milk available in the morning thanks to our breakfast programme. We are now organising fruit for our children to eat at the Brain Food Break at 10am and for morning tea. Sandwiches, fruit, yoghurt with minimal amount of packet snacks help your child to stay focused during the day.

WATER ONLY SCHOOL

A reminder that your child needs to bring their own named water bottle to school everyday. We ask that children only bring water to school - no juice or fizzy drinks please. They are great for treats at home.

WHANAU WELL BEING KETE

Kia ora,
In your Wellbeing Kete handed out at the end of last term there was a Whānau Wellbeing Bingo card. Each time you do an activity together, cut out the square, sign it and put it in the ‘wellbeing kete’ in the school office to go into the draw for a whānau wellbeing prize!! The prizes will drawn at the OLOL’s Got Talent Wellbeing Whanau Night on Tuesday 27th September between 6:30 and 8pm. We’ll look forward to seeing you there!!!

CATHOLIC CHARACTER

Thank you to our wonderful Director of Religious Studies (DRS) Mrs Pedley for the lovely liturgy we shared on Monday. We are also looking to raise children's understanding of the mass responses and prayers so they can participate more when we attend mass.

FUNDRAISING EVENT #1 - FERTILISER DRIVE - we need your help

SATURDAY 27TH AUGUST @ 8am - 11am

Thank you to all those who have helped us so far - we have sold approximately 316 bags which is a great effort. We hope to have 400 orders by Friday. We still need a little help with the following:

  • Phone lists - ring people on the phone list’s and record their orders

  • Support on the day with the delivery of the fertiliser bag orders (locally) and possibly with a trailer/van/truck/ute

With enough help we should be able to finish by 11am.

Please email or ring the school office if you are able to help with the following:
