Job Description/Duties
- measure the properties of bodies of water, like measuring volume or stream speed, collect water and soil samples to test for certain properties, such as levels of pollution
- Apply research findings to help minimize the environmental impacts of pollution, erosion, and other problems
- Research ways to improve water conservation and preservation
- Use computer models to forecast future water supplies, the spread of pollution, and other events
- Evaluate the feasibility of water-related projects, such as hydroelectric power plants, irrigation systems, and waste treatment facilities

An average Hydrologist makes about $35 an hour or $75,690 a year

Advantage: I think the job would be fun and it is good pay

To have a successful resume, you need a master's degree. Also, in some cases you may need a degree in environmental science.

Hydrology is the study of water and its properties, including its distribution and movement in and through the land areas of the earth. Also, the hydrologic cycle is the passage of water from the oceans into the atmosphere by evaporation and transpiration, onto the lands, over and under the lands as runoff and infiltration, and back to the oceans. Lastly, many hydrologists get to work with marine life and/or other wildlife.
