Proper Masking
- The safety of others and themselves.
- To ensure students are able to stay in school when a close contact occurs.
If a person is not wearing their mask properly (covering their mouth and nose) and they or the other person is positive with COVID-19, they will need to quarantine from home and learn virtually. This is avoidable by proper mask wearing. If both parties are properly masked, the person who is a close contact can remain in school and self-monitor.
Please help reinforce this to your students as we continue to do the same at school.
Late Work and Missing Assignments
All late work should be submitted by the ending dates below. Students can earn up to full credit on late work, but they will be charged one Live School point for a late submission. Due to this information being pushed out late, we will make an exception for this first progress report in accepting late work through Monday, September 20th.
At the end of each quarter, any missing assignments still noted in the gradebook will be charged two Live School points.
Please sign up for Academic Lab to get both student and staff tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursday after school from 3-4 pm.
TikTok Challenge Concerns
Over the past two weeks, we have been experiencing an issue of vandalization in our middle and high schools. Soap dispensers have been damaged or stolen off of the walls and kool-aid like liquid has been sprayed in the stalls of our bathrooms. We believe the few students responsible for this damage are being inspired by a challenge circulating on the social media app TikTok, where participants share videos of the items they have broken or stolen from their schools. We are working toward solving this problem and addressing the students responsible.
Handbook Acknowledgement
You can access the handbook digitally here.
FPC Rosters
Each quarter, we will review data to ensure proper placement and make switches as needed.
MAP Individual Student Reports
Academic Lab (Repeat)
We will pay students 2 points in Live School to stay and work on improving by completing homework, missing assignments, retaking assessments, etc. We are also recruiting students to stay and serve as mentors as well. Those students can either earn community service hours or also get paid in Live School.
Please use the Google Form below to sign up your child to get extra help via Academic Lab each time you want them to stay.
Football Game Reminders (Repeat)
5th Grade: Pirate football games are a time for us all to gather and enjoy some fantastic company and great sports. Please remind your students that the football stadium is an extension of the classroom, and appropriate behavior and good sportsmanship are expected. As a reminder, elementary students should be supervised by a parent and with you at all times.
Grades 6-8: As we gear up for our first Friday Night Lights Pirates football game, we are asking that our students sit with their families at the game. Due to our construction, there is not a middle school section for them to sit as a group and therefore, they need to be seated with a parent. We do ask that you don’t drop them off unaccompanied throughout the evening. They can sit with friends, but it needs to also be with a parent. We want our students to be there, be loud, be proud and cheer on their Pirates, but in a way that respects all in attendance.
Stay Up-to-Date With Your Child's Grades (Repeat)
We believe that frequent communication on academic progress is critical to student success. You can access your child's grades and view their progress at any time by either logging onto Parent Portal or accessing the Tyler SIS Student 360 app on your mobile device. Linked below is a quick guide on how to access your child's grades online or on your mobile device.
