COVID-19 Updates

Ozark School District

The City of Ozark has announced the masking ordinance will end on Thursday, April 22 at 11:59 p.m.

Read the press release here.

What does this mean for masking through the end of this school year?

Ozark School District is not changing our masking guidelines for the remainder of the school year. Masks are still required for students grades kindergarten through 12th grade and all staff when social distancing is not an option. You can review Ozark School District's masking guidelines here.

We continue to work closely with the Christian County Health Department, the State Health Department, and the CDC on the guidelines for the COVID-19 pandemic. At this time, there have not been any significant changes in those guidelines that would necessitate changing our guidelines before the end of this school year.

Masking during summer school and beyond

Looking forward to summer school, our goal is to make masks optional, but not required for students and staff during summer school June 1-25. This decision will be based on the COVID-19 status of our community along with updated information from the Christian County Health Department, the State Health Department and the CDC. We will communicate with families as soon as this decision is made.

After summer school, we will again evaluate where we are as a community with updated information from our health agency partners to determine our guidelines for next school year.

Ozark School District has started offering voluntary COVID-19 BinaxNOW Rapid Antigen Testing for students. This will be in a phased approach to ensure we have adequate staffing.

  • April 12 - OHS & FRS
  • April 26 - OMS & OJH
  • May 1 - Tiger Paw (3 years and above) & Elementary

Testing is completely voluntary and free.
