Chapel
Pastor Borglum opened by asking us a couple of questions, "Have you ever seen bad things happen? or Have you ever heard of a really bad thing happening to an innocent person?" If so, did you ask, "God, why did you let that happen?" It's okay to ask that question. God is not afraid of your questions. He is good and He loves you. He wants you to ask questions. Your questions can be answered by the Bible, God's message to you. The Almighty God wants to talk to you through His words, which are in the Bible. It tells us how we should live our lives to please God. It also reveals our nature.
Genesis 1:27 says, so God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. You are made in the image of God. Think about that when someone puts you down and makes you feel worthless. You are meant to reflect His character, His attributes. As we reflect God, think about how He loves us...and how He needs nothing in return to love us unconditionally.
He spoke the world into existence. Mankind is unique and creative, but we don't always obey God like we should. We have to plug into the Life-source. Romans 6:23 tells us For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. We get plugged in through Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:21 reads For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. By putting your faith in Jesus and believing He paid the price we deserved, you are connected to God. One day Jesus will return and He will rule and reign in power. All of us who trust in Him will reign with Him in everlasting life.
Trait of the Month: Goodness
This month's trait is goodness, and we chose three CCA students to tell us what goodness means to them. Arianna from 5th grade said, “Goodness to me means kindness and God’s love.” Katie from 7th grade said, “Goodness means doing what’s right even when no one is watching.” Glenn from 11th grade said, “What goodness means to me is to be selfless in all things.” The Bible says, “So you may walk in that way of goodness, and keep to the paths of righteousness. Proverbs 2:20.” --Maddie
