THIS WEEK

MATH: With us only being in school 2 days this week, we will continue to focus on division and practicing this skill in different ways using lots of manipulatives to help the children embed this skill. We will continue to practice our multiplication tables, as division and multiplication are linked.

READING: Mclass will continue over the two days and we will be finishing off our biography projects and creating Google Slideshows of our Global week learning. I will try and share these via email with you so you can look at your child's awesome learning!

SCIENCE: Mrs. Bossard will continue her unit of Forces and Motion with the class.

** Homework - Please sign your child's agenda on a daily basis to show that your child has completed that night's homework. I expect homework to be turned in on time. Every Monday we write all the homework in our agenda so we know when it is due in. Also, please try and let your child do the homework by themselves, but then check it over with them. We go through homework every day so the children are aware of how they should answer the questions.

1st Annual Passport to the World

Poplin's 1st Annual Passport to the World was an absolute success!!! The students managed to visit at least 5 different countries and learned lots of facts about these places. This was a super activity to make more global students. I was grateful to be a part of the committee. More global things to come later in the year. Take a look at the pic of our classroom!! England...Of course!!

MCLASS

Big image
Mclass reading assessments will be taking place over the next couple of weeks. Please talk with your child about trying their best and showing what they can do. This is a mid-year assessment so we can plan forward and make sure your child receives the support they need. If you have any questions, please email me.

INVIEW TESTING

InView testing for third grade is taking place soon. These tests enable us to identify students who would benefit from being in AIG next year in fourth grade. This is nothing to worry about and there is nothing to revise or prepare for. The students will see some practice questions over the next week so they will be familiar with the test when it is given.

BOX TOPS

Please save your box tops and turn them in at any point during the term!

There was a much better collection of box tops this time! Thank you so much to everyone who brought them in. The next collection will be February 19th.

Thank you again for supporting our school.
