Virtual Learning Semester Switch
At this time, families are eligible to request to change the learning mode for their student(s) for the second semester of the 2021-2022 school year. Families that are currently enrolled in face-to-face can switch to virtual, and families who are enrolled in virtual can switch to face-to-face. If you do not wish to switch your child’s learning mode, no action is necessary.
Requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Submitting the form linked in this email does not guarantee a request will be granted. Requests will be reviewed by building and district leadership and the parent/guardian will be notified. If approved, the change will be effective for the second semester (January 24, 2022 - June 10, 2022). Once a request has been approved, it will be for the duration of the second semester. Please carefully consider this semester-long commitment before submitting this application, as requests to change throughout the second semester will not be granted.
Additionally, please note that we have partnered with third party providers for the students’ daily instruction. We are utilizing Lincoln Learning for our K-6 students and Edgenuity for 7-12. A Fraser teacher will be assigned as your child’s mentor to help check in, keep him/her on track, and align the grading system with Fraser’s. The bulk of your child's instruction will be online and course content will be delivered by Lincoln Learning and Edgenuity. For younger students, a learning coach will be a critical piece in your child's success. The learning coach, at home, needs to support your child with daily instruction, content delivery, and technology. Please note, the District may change your child’s learning mode if appropriate academic progress is not met throughout the semester.
If you are interested in changing your child’s learning mode for the second semester, please fill out this application.
Enrollment Change Request Form
This application will close on December 17th. You will be notified by the District after the holiday break of your child’s application status and specific information will be provided about the switch at that time.
Reminder: Please Submit Title I Community Compact ASAP
As a reminder, because we are a Schoolwide Title I School, we need to share our Community Compact with families each year for you to read over with your children and submit to us. This is required by federal law because we are a Title I school.
We are asking that each family takes a few minutes to read this over with your child(ren) and then submit it ASAP if you haven't already: Eisenhower Elementary Communicate Compact
Thank you for your continuing support and partnership.
HAPPY'S HOLIDAY PIZZA CONTEST ---- And the winter is....
Happy's Pizza of Fraser offered each 1st & 2nd grade the opportunity to win a FREE pizza party. Each class created their own holiday-themed tree during art class. These "trees" have been on display at the Groesbeck & Masonic store since November. Community members were invited to visit the location and select the one they like best. The class with the most votes was Mrs. Gray's (55) first-grade classroom. They will receive a pizza party prior to holiday break.
Congratulations to all the students for a job well done! The location was overwhelmed with joy on how this turned out.
Our Eagles Share Their Learning and Growth at Our Student-Led Conferences
5th Grade Improving their Writing
Throughout our writing units in the first trimester, our 5th graders have been learning how to peer edit. Each student finds a partner to work with and they take turns reading each other’s writing. They look for things in their partner’s work that need correcting, like spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and content. They also provide their partner with positive feedback on things they did well. Our students have really been enjoying their peer editing time and find it very helpful!
READY OR NOT- THE COLD WEATHER IS HERE!
We're starting to see MANY students bundled up each day, which is great! Please be sure to send your child to school dressed for the weather each day. Students will start needing warm coats, gloves, hats, scarves, and/or boots daily throughout the winter.
Please take time to label each and every item- because our lost and found gets bombarded with lost winter accessories throughout the season
Please note that, per Board Policy, we will be having outdoor morning lineup and heading outdoors for our 20 minute recess(es) if the windchill is 10+ degrees.
Time outdoors is time well spent for kids, in all seasons
Lunch Aides Needed at Ike!
Lunch aides are needed every M-F at Ike. These are paid positions and applicants must be capable of going outside in temperatures above 10 degrees. Interested candidates should contact Mr. Tonn at (586)439-6600 and complete an application HERE. We look forward to hearing from you!
Health, Safety, and Covid-19 Communication
You may find Ms. Wozniak's most recent community update, sent to families on November 15th, HERE.
For updated FPS COVID-19 information, including quarantine updates, district data, testing information, etc., our FPS Covid-19 Dashboard is updated daily and can be found HERE.
***Remember, the best way to do YOUR PART to help keep our community healthy and in school teaching and learning is to keep children with any potential sign of illness at home until the cause is determined by a medical professional.***
