Weekly Updates for Oct 3 - 7
Message from the Principal
We 5 days left in the first 9 week grading period, which will end this Friday, 10/7/22. For those students involved in extra-curricular activities at this time, they must pass to be eligible based on their grades after 10/7/22. Please utilize the Family/Student Access portal to keep up with grades. This is a great resource available to all and you can even set alerts on the portal to get your own notifications.
On the next two Saturdays we will be hosting The Academy! This is an opportunity for students behind in their work to come to Johnson HS on Saturday morning from 8 am - 1 pm and get help from teachers in each Core area. Students are responsible for signing up for this opportunity and bringing all work that they are needing to work on.
Please continue to check your email as almost all information to be shared is sent through email. We are looking forward to a great 2022-23 school year for our Jags!
Sincerely,
Gary Comalander - Principal

Thank You CTJ Custodians!
Please share your appreciation this week with our hard-working custodians and what they do every day to keep CTJ clean for everyone!
Currently we have 8 custodians doing the work of 19 positions and we can't say Thank You enough to the great job they do!
The Academy for academic help!
Please have your student join us on 10/8 and 10/15 from 8am-1pm for Johnson HS Academy! Students need to sign up with their core content (math, English, science, and social studies) teachers.
The Academy provides additional learning from certified teachers to practice skills students may have missed on any previous 8th grade STAAR tests or End-of-Course (EOC) exams at high school. Currently, students work in FLEX period on lessons and instruction based on concepts they may have missed on STAAR tests. The Academy would provide students additional practice time. Students may also attend before and after school tutorials with their teachers for additional support in all content areas.
Additionally, Academy time may also be used to help students complete any Credit Protection they may have been assigned. Credit Protection is offered to students that have failing grades at the 9-weeks to help bring up their grade average to help mitigate them failing at the semester and losing credit for the course.
THE ACADEMY INFORMATION:
-Saturday, 10/8 and 10/15 8:00am-1:00pm in Johnson Library
-Park at the Back of the school/ Drop-off at Courtyard Entrance
-Academy hours count toward attendance hours for non-credited courses
-Students will have access to desktops and Chromebooks for any online assignments
We will have snacks or bring your own snacks/drinks, but students cannot eat inside the library
Students need bring assignments with them to work on at Academy!
