1st December 2022 - Week 7 -Term Four
Principal's Piece
Tena Koutou Katoa Weber whanau,
This week we have been lucky to have had New Zealand Swim in school working with all our teachers and tamariki on water safety - such an important topic as we enter into the summer holidays spending time at beaches and rivers.
We are having a stall at the Weber Market this Sunday - we are raffling a gift basket full of amazing items that have been kindly donated by local businesses. Tickets are $5 each and available from the school office or alternatively at our stall on Sunday. Many thanks to Cherry Lee for organising this. This fundraiser is for the development of a path / green space by the newly located playhouse.
Next year Janet Tolley will continue to be in the Junior room with the Y1/2,students, Janet will be moving into the current room 3.
The Beetham block will be the Middle/Senior hub where Lisa Anderson, Jaime Arnold and Kathy Holyoake will team teach together.
Jaime Arnold will be teaching three days and myself two days. This hub will consist of two teachers every day as well as a teacher aide.
This is an exciting opportunity to foster the 'Weber way ' , personalise learning for our tamariki whilst strengthening relationships with our younger and older students.
We will collaboratively plan, report and assess, the tamariki will be the responsibility of all the teachers.
Have a lovely week. Look forward to seeing you at the Weber market.
Kind regards
Lisa

Karen Dalldorf from National Aquatic Education and Water Safety, was at school on Tuesday teaching our tamariki about how to be safe in the water. It was an important lesson for our students coming into summer and spending more time around the water.
They had a great time in the water learning how to use everyday items to float on their backs as we won't have pool noodles handy all the time!!
Chickenpox
Chickenpox is currently doing the rounds in the district.
As per School docs, here is the information regarding how to spot early symptoms of chicken pox and what to do as a result.
If your child does present with symptoms at school, we will call you immediately.
