Introductions
You never get another chance to make a first impression. That first conversation with your patient sets the tone so talk proudly about yourself as a clinician/support team member. Begin with introducing yourself to everyone in the room, smiling and making eye contact.
- -Did you know that when you look into someone's eyes long enough to acknowledge their eye color you make a personal connection?
State how long you've worked for Parkview, and what your role is. Introduce what you have planned for the patient during your shift and the expected duration. Saying your name and expertise is a welcoming personal gesture.
Most patients already trust you before they meet you because you work in healthcare. It's up to you to validate that trust!
