Patriot Honors

From Kelly Thomas:

Thanks so much to all of those who have helped out with early morning duty in the cafeteria for breakfast, during Mrs. Faulkenberry's absence.

Ms. King, Mrs. Freeman, Mrs. Baston, Mrs. Valk, Mrs. Roueche, Mrs. Poe, and Mrs. Davis, I appreciate you all very much!

Thank you to Hathaway, Shaver, Turner, King, Freeman, E. Baker, Baston and Valk for covering second grade classes for their victory lunch!

From Holly Massey (Shumate):

Huge shout out to Ms. Holiday and Ms. Byers! Alena was not feeling well in Challenger. Ms. Holiday was speaking to Ms. Byers. Together they realized it was her ears and Ms. Byers heard me talk about us flying to Oregon for Christmas. Ms. Byers emailed me just in time for me to get off, get Alena to the doctor and have her treated for a double ear infection! If not, we would have never been able to fly on Saturday! Great teamwork. I love having Alena in a school where people know her and we feel free to share about our lives.
Thanks!

Wellness Team - Weight Loss Challenge - Starting January 4th

It's that time of year again where we have our IDES Get Healthy/Weight Loss Challenge. If you are interested in being part of the IDES Weight Loss Challenge, check out the following information:

Each person can enter the competition by paying $5 to Ms. Miller. We will begin on the January 4th (teacher work day). That will be our initial weigh in day. You will pick a PIN number and only Mrs Keener will know what you weigh in at each week. This information will be confidential. You will weigh in each week on Fridays (in the alcove by Mrs Keener's office), write down your weight and PIN number on the slip of paper, and put it in the basket. If you gain weight, you will pay Ms Miller $1 per pound gained each week. At the end of our 12 week challenge (last weigh in on March 25th) the top three competitors that lost the highest percentage of weight (not the most number of pounds) will receive the money collected within that 12 week period. If you are interested in participating or have any questions please email Mrs. Keener. If you are not interested in participating, you can be a motivator for those who are. :-).

Thank you for your support,

Ashley Miller

Tutoring

If you are interesting in tutoring after the holidays for $20.50/hour, please let Lesley know. This would not be a long-term commitment and can be shared with another teacher.

Science Information

Science Benchmarks are available for K, 1, 2 from Pene. Let her know when you need them.

Consumable Textbooks

Remember that we need to keep consumable textbooks for students who move. These textbooks should be used for those moving in.

Literacy Update

When your F&P folders are complete, please bring them to Freeman's room. They will be checked and returned by Friday, January 8th. Make sure all summary sheets are completed.

Also, remember to update the F&P column on the tracking form located on the R drive. Please do this by 2pm Friday afternoon.

Thanks for your diligence in getting the F&P tests completed.
