Community Service
This week we had our first middle school service day. Students were able to help at Lake Whitney Ranch Camp and Adventist Community Center. These two organizations have a powerful impact on many people in Texas and beyond. We are happy to be able to partner with these great organizations.
Safety
Please make sure to come to a complete stop before exiting out of our KAES driveways/parking lot. We have had some close calls and want everyone to stay safe. Also note that both lanes of the driveway exiting next to the road stop sign are both one way.
Planting pumkins for the fall
Preschool planted pumpkins this week and learned about what plants need to grow. With the love and care that these little ones will put into growing these plants I am sure they will be ready for Thanksgiving.
PreKindergarten learns about careers
This week PreKindergarten had two career visits. They learned all about caring for babies from Nurse Griswell and the important work of a Police Officer from Officer Chou. Thank you to our parrents who take the time to share with our kids.
The Young Peacemaker - Week 3
I have included an outline of what was discussed and taught this week. My hope is that this can benefit your family at home just as much as at school. Remember your child should already be familiar with these ideas.
βDo not deceive yourselves; no one makes a fool of God. A man will reap exactly what he plants" (Gal. 6:7)
(The big Idea) Choices have consequences.
(The main points)
Choices have consequences
Consequences come after choices
There are consequences for good and bad choices.
Good consequences include:
Praise
Thanks and appreciation
Privileges
Rewards
Trust
Confidence
Clear conscience
Bad consequences include:
Discipline/punishment
Lose privileges
Make restitution
No rewards
Lose trust
No confidence
Guilty conscience
Consequences belong to you.
The person who makes a choice deserves the consequence for that choice. Just as your choices belong to you, so do your consequences. In other words, you are responsible for your own choices.
Consequences are necessary to help you remember to change bad choices to good ones.
Prevent bad consequences by asking God to help you:
Make good choices.
Do what is right
Obey people in authority (as long as they donβt tell you to do something you know is wrong)
Speak and act respectfully to all people
